Not Bullet-proof

By:
September 1, 2011

The Pohaku is my second paddleboard. I have the 10-6. Its a foot shorter than my Surftech Laird and much lighter. I got it primarily for the surf - knee to head high. I like the performance but I'm disappointed with the durabilty. The surface dings pretty easily and I just had the blocks on the left side fin pull out. Next time I'll go for a tougher construction.

Pohaku, not DaMooch

By:
May 19, 2011

the pohaku 11-0 is 29.75" wide whereas the DaMooch is only 27.875" width. also, the Pohaku is 4.125" thk, whereas the DaMooch is 4.25" thk. My wife & I are presently looking at buying her the Pohaku 10-6 & myself the Pohaku 11-0 very soon.

Good All Around SUP

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I'm about 5'10" 150-160lbs and I got the 10'6". I got this board to use on Reservoirs, Slow Moving Rivers, & Occasionally Surf. On Reservoirs it's a little skinny and less stable, so it requires more balance, but performs really well. I'd recommend this as a good overall SUP for intermediate - advance paddlers.
