So you enjoy the water, you’re in decent shape, and now you’ve decided to take up a new sport: stand-up paddleboarding. We have just the right board for you—the stable, entry-level C4 Waterman Pohaku Wide stand-up paddleboard. Head for any size body of water and let the Pohaku be your means to gain endurance, increase balance, build strength, and honor an ancient, peaceful tradition.

  • Steep rails offer stability and eliminate yawing (the deviation off a straight line when paddling), which is common with many stand up boards
  • Flat, thin design provides minimal resistance for faster cadence and easy direction changes
  • High-density foam deck pad provides both grip and cushion for your feet that transfers into less leg fatigue and reduced lower back pain
  • Deck pad has multiple inserts for attaching cargo (i.e. PFD, camping gear, food, and water)
  • Hand-shaped with single-density, stringer-less EPS foam
  • Fiberglass laminate resists dings and cracks, and automotive-grade paint and polish retains a beautiful, easy-to-clean finish
  • Features finger well in deck pad for transport and deck leash plugs for paddle holders and PFD leash

Bottom Line: Let the Pohaku be your spiritual guide and athletic muse.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

A caution: The 11' is NOT a Wide Glide!

If you go on the C4 Waterman website, they list an 11' Pohaku but don't give the dimensions. The board specs are shown in the fin cluster photo on Backcountry. They are: 20 5/8 X 27 15/16 x 17 1/16, and 4 1/4. These are the dimensions of a C4 Waterman board called "Da Mooch". Really a nice board, it's the rounded pintail just shown in the photo. But it will not be as stable as the 10'6", and even though longer by 6" and a bit thicker. It's going take a bit more work than a board pushing 30" at the wide point. Even though the Pohaku is the 'low line' from C4, EPX instead of TEC, it's still really well made and seems to take the punishment in stride.
