Classy and comfy.

Don't be thrown off by the appearance of the Byer of Maine Pangean Lounger Camp Chair—you don't need a tiny ass to sit comfortably on this portable seat. The classic Pangean Lounger's ergonomic design creates a surprisingly comfy seat for big and little butts alike. The seat pulls out of the base and slides flush with the back for easy transportation, and a pouch on the back stashes sunscreen and a water bottle. The chair’s sturdy polyester duck and kiln-treated wood stand up to years of camping, barbecuing, and beach-going.

Kick back and relax!

I bought a set of these for car camping and they are quite comfortable and I really like the aesthetic. I would have given them 4 stars but a curious thing happened while rallying the dirt roads of southern UT. I kept them in my Yakima Rocket Box and after a few days of driving on dirt the screws holding the pieces of the chairs had shaken themselves loose. They require two allen wrenches to put back together. It is possible they weren't properly tensioned at the factory but it was annoying nonetheless. I got them tightened up and they have been perfect since then. They are a great height for kicking back and relaxing. They are not as stable when you lean forward though. So I guess the takeaway is, kick back and relax!

Great Car Camping Chair

Great car camping chair and for outdoor concerts. I have friends that have owned the same style for years and hope that we will get the same long life out of them.

Great Camp Chair

After years of buying Bargain Folding Camp chairs at the beginning of every summer and seeing their demise before summer's end I started to think "There must be a better way"
Enter the Pangean Lounger.
Compact, rugged, simple elegant and smells good to boot.
You get a low to the ground seat which is nice because you can work a makeshift grill or tend your camp stove from a better angle. I found that around a camp fire you sit under most of the smoke that will billow off the fire. You can rock forward in the chair to grab things with ease. They store into themselves and are made of the exotic, fragrant and beautiful hardwood Eucalyptus. When not on car camping adventures, these live in the closet for easy additional domestic seating. I am a big fan of this product and since then looked more into Byer's line and I like what I see.

Good Wood

Simple, and easy to pack the Pangean Lounger is surprisingly comfortable just like the description says. It's become one of my go to car camping chairs and is great for lounging anywhere.

Excellent for the price!

I love my new camping chair. Its not uncomfortable by any means. I keep it my dorm and my roommates often steal it to play video games. Then I take it on the occasional camping trip. Fits inside my tent and couldn't be simpler to take apart (one piece just slides through the other). It feels pretty sturdy so far, my only complaint is it will sometime fall forward if you get out of it the wrong way making you look dumb but not a big deal.

BUYER BEWARE !

After I purchased 4 of these and sent it to overseas for my friend, I found it was a totally different article from an image above, which I had received was Pangean Lounger, not Byer of Maine Lounger Camp Chair. In spite of the latter one is discontinued, this backcountry.com website has been posting the misleading photo which also made me feel as if there are 2 chairs in one package. (Actually it was only 1 chair per box.) So you'd better watch out and think if these things are big deals or not before purchasing from this bogus website !!

Great chairs for the agile

Have had these chairs for many years of camping and soccer events. They pack up easily, are very durable and easy to clean. A real bargain compared to metal folding chairs. You have to like sitting low to the ground. Getting a bit too old for that now but these were wonderful for sitting around the campfire with my children.
