Combining a strong, lightweight hammock with fine mesh netting to create a unique insect-free hammock camping experience, the Byer of Maine Moskito Kakoon Hammock has flexible fiberglass spreader bars to keep the netting off your body, and is supported by shock cord and elastic tabs. It's triple-stitched for added durability, and the parachute nylon hammock can be turned upside down and also used as a traditional hammock.

- Q & A
Great for the Jungle (or Minnesota)
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This hammock is well constructed and versatile. As well constructed as any higher priced competitors. My wife has the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter and they are very comparable. I made slight modifications to the accessory hardware of both but this is by no means necessary. The Byer Moskito Kakoon packs up into a slim stuff sack that's about 2 and a half feet long. If your backpack has an external water bottle pouch beneath a horizontally running compression strap the Kakoon hammock can be quickly and simply stowed on your packs exterior. The No See Um mesh will do an excellent job keeping out unwanted guests.
What material is the netting? is it plain nylon, or is it no see um mesh?
