Description

Not everybody can be a snowboard prodigy, but just about anybody can learn how to ride and have fun doing it.

The Burton White Collection Standard Snowboard makes it easier than ever for newcomers to progress in a hurry. The mellow EZ-V rocker profile and slightly tapered shape make turn initiation effortless, which means you spend less time on your ass and more time learning the ropes.
  • EZ V rocker shape raises the board's contact points out of the snow for fewer scorpions and more fun
  • Slightly tapered shape makes it easy to tilt the board onto its edge for predictable turns
  • Forgiving flex lets new riders learn board control without dishing out too much punishment
  • Mid-wide shape offers extra flotation in deep snow and accommodates up to about a size 11 boot

It's all personal preference and depends on what you're using the board for.
Generally, I'd say: 145 ish for freestyle riding

You will probably want to go with a reverse camber board that is 154cms +/- a couple. if you go with a softer board and this combo it will be a little more forgiving. don't worry about sticking with one brand. most board compaines make beginner boards: Ride, Burton, Stepchild, Nitro, O-matic, DC, etc... hope this help.

Hey Peter,

At 5'9" you should look into the 154cm. With a size 11 you may want to consider the 156 wide. You are on the low end of the weight range for both the 54 and 56w, but a 145 will be too short.
