Drop-dead SLXy.

Burton pulled out all the stops with the Men's SLX snowboard boot to make sure it'll step to everything on the mountain. The mid-stiff flex will have you stomping landings on the biggest jumps around, and yet you'll still have enough flex to handle the occasional jib session. There's an articulating cuff for unrestricted shredding, and the Speed Zone lace system makes it easy to dial in your fit and keep it that way. The SLX pretty much has more tech than your phone, so you can focus on your next hit, not your sore feet.

  • Dual zone Speed Zone lacing system
  • Medium-stiff flex
  • Easy Slide articulated cuff
  • Power Up 3D molded tongue
  • Shrinkage footprint reduction technology
  • Dual-density cushioning
  • Dual Zone B3 gel padding
  • Vibram EcoStep Plus outsole

Not so slexy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these because I love Burton boots and wanted the top dog model. Unfortunately, these are painful. The seam between the tongue and toe box is extra thick. It causes a painful pressure point on your instep. Also the Radpads on the liner are garbage. They have the opposite effect of what Burton claims they do (dispersing pressure from your ankle strap). Instead the bottom edge of my ankle strap puts pressure on the bottom edge of the Radpad, which digs into the top of my foot. Guess I'll have to ride my old school Grails.

It's got all the nice features and looks great to boot! Took about a day and a half to break it in, but I didn't try to heat mold it or anything.
These do run a bit small though (normal Burton) I normally wear an 11.5, got a 12, and it was just barely big enough. Once it was broken in it was fine, but there was some toe pain for that first day!
I do love these boots though, very sexy!
