The Burton Men’s SLX Snowboard Boot came from the future to protect and support your feet while you ride. Burton tricked out the SLX with all kinds of goodies. Speed Zone lacing tightens your boot around your foot with two quick pulls on the handles so you can get on the snow that much faster. Burton pre-wired the Imprint 5 liner for Therm-ic heat packs (sold separately) so you can warm your toes on those truly ass-numbingly cold days on the mountain.

  • Speed Zone zonal lacing lets you choose how tight you want your boot around your instep and your ankle
  • The heat-moldable Imprint 5 liners feature adjustable J-bars so you can get the level of heel lock-down that’s right for you
  • The liner’s EZ Entry panel reduces friction so you don’t feel like you’re trying to shove your foot into your cat
  • InfiniFIT EVA soles in the liners cushion feet and won’t pack out after half a season
  • The Dual-Component Power Spine backstay offers optimal lateral and medial response and support
  • B3 gel in the heels and toes along with lightweight Vibram rubber outsoles offer high-impact cushioning that won’t break down

Bottom Line: Futuristic boots for the here and now.

After three pairs of Ions this has become mt favorite boot. I have never had a boot that fit me so well. The SLX has plenty of support but articulating still lets you get your tweak on while maintaining excellent ankle hold. The thermic system is a real plus too if you spend alot of time in very cold conditions.

Will this boot fit the CO2 EST bindings?

Will this boot fit the CO2 EST bindings?

Yes!

However, I found that with the SLX boot being so 'slim fitting' I could actually move down to a medium binding from a large - this resulted in a much more precise fit between boot and binding.

Note however that I am a US 10.5 size boot and that really is boarder line between a medium and large binding.

I love most of burton's gear and I had some pretty high expectations for these boots (the price was a bit much, but I gave 'em a go). They are fantastic. I do a lot of boarding in the Teton Range in Wyoming and it gets super cold. These guys held up great and the warmers really helped on the sub, sub zero days. If you don't get cold the warmers might be a bit much, and I would recommend the Ions.

I actually had the same thing happen to both heels on my boots. I sent them in and Burton promptly sent me another pair.

burton's gear is the shizz as far as im concerned however, when i bought the slx i had high expectations and they were completely confirmed when i rode these boots for several days... the ride was smooth like butter and the fit was infinite... but the down side to the quality of the boots was rather poor in my opinion- im not one to diss burton but the backside of the rubber sole on the heel completely severed off... it wasnt due to anything i did, it was just i believe a faulty boot... o well next year im gettin another pair...

Can anyone tell me if this seasons boot is exactly the same fit

Can anyone tell me if this seasons boot is exactly the same fit as last season?

I used to wear Ions but I find this seasons boot to be a little tight in the toe box

Thanks in advance....

Its built around the same last as the previous years, so the fit is very, very similar... However, in my opinion, the SLX's toe box has increased slightly do to how Burton used the soft-flexing, molded polycarbonate to shape a spine-like skeleton around it.

Therm-ic shcmerm-ic

"Burton pre-wired the Imprint 5 liner for Therm-ic heat packs" If you are considering buying these boots just for their heating elements, don't bother (in my opinion). You have to spend MORE money to get the battery packs and the charging units! The battery packs weight a fair bit too and can end up flying about if they slip loose. Therm-ic do a Lithium battery pack which is much lighter and lasts much longer in the cold... but guess what, you have to spend MORE money, an extra $100 for those! And then, after a hard days shred you forget to put the buggers on to charge over night... it's back to the stick on toe warmers :(

In my opinion, don't buy these boots just because of the option to use Therm-ic heat packs.. buy them because they fit ya like a glove and keep ya riding sweet all day!
