Burton lies. The Shaun White Puff the Magic Jacket isn't magical at all, it owes its fiery warm nature to all-over Thermacore insulation. This White Collection jacket is slightly puffy, but not overly so, thanks to a slim fit. Wear the Puff the Magic Jacket alone for cold, dry days, or layer it under your shell in gnarlier conditions. If you start to overheat while hiking the pipe, unzip the Puff the Magic Jacket's mesh lined Underarm zips to cool off. An integrated waist gaiter keeps the fluff out, while a goggle, pass, and two handwarmer pockets keep all your valuables within reach.**DISCONTINUED**

Bottom Line: The Shaun White Magic Puff jacket will keep you warm frolicking in the autumn mist in a land called Hunalee, or warm at your local resort.

Great Jacket

This jacket is very light which is soooo nice when boarding. I would for sure buy this jacket again. I got the roasted brown color (which it looks like they don’t sell any more) and it looks great. I got a large and it is exactly that, Large. It doesn’t have a ton of pockets but it has enough, I think there’s two on the side and one inside. One thing I may mention is the plastic for the season pass seems cheap, or at least mine cracked open and my season pass fell out two months into the season. Keep in mind I board every other day so this thing gets GOOD use. The jacked ended up ripping when I shot through some trees and got stabbed by a branch. I think any jacket would have ripped in that situation so I don’t think it is a discredit to its durability. On the plus side, I contacted Backcountry about this and they had a new (replacement) one shipped to me as soon as I sent my old one. I got the jacket the within two days of shipping them the ripped one and was back on the hill. By the way, this was 3 months into the season and Backcountry still replaced it after all that usage. I will never buy anything anywhere else. The service here is unprecedented! As for the jacket usability: The snow skirt works great, the cuff Velcro is a little shady but doesn’t come off/open (would have preferred a wrist skirt), there is no elastic to close up the hood so on those super cold days you better have a face guard and over the ear beanie to keep warm, the pit vents work great and let plenty of air in, the jacket will keep you quite warm during the cold days and not TOO hot on the blue bird days, the zipper does snag all the time which sucks when you have your gloves on, the hood is big enough and fits well over my helmet, and as stated before, the jacket is very light and is very comfortable! All and all, I really like this jacket; it has a few things I would change about it, like the freeking zipper that snags all the time, but the jacket is really well made and is great for pretty much all conditions.

Seemed like a decent jacket but I got the large, which was too big for my 6'1" 185 frame

...et!
This jacket is really comfortable and warm. I used it for the first time this past weekend. It turned out to be about 50 degrees on the mountain and a bit of unzipping cured all of my sweaty woes. Those pit vents are a pretty shlick shtick. I can see it being great for those freezing days too, and it allows for good movement.
