Shred with superiority.

Step up your shred skills with the responsive feel and cushioned comfort of the Burton Men's Ruler Snowboard Boot. This responsive boot provides great edge control for freeriding with its Medium-Flex PowerUp Tongue and Power Spine Backstay, yet it isn't insanely stiff like Burton's Driver X or Imperial, allowing you enough flex to butter and tweak off jumps with its articulated Flex Notches.

Speed Zone Lacing gives you the freedom to independently tighten the upper and lower regions for a dialed-in fit. Simply pull each handle to your ideal tightness and you're ready to ride in mere seconds! Plus, the handles tuck away into small side pockets for easy retrieval, should you need to re-adjust your boots while you're riding.

Inside the boot, you'll find a heat-moldable Imprint 2 Liner that's insulated with 3M Thinsulate for warmth on frigid days. This liner has Man Fur for added comfort at the opening, where your calf rubs against the boot liner. Additionally, the liner wraps tightly around your leg with a simple hook-and-loop closure, giving you stay-put support. There's also Sleeping Bag Reflective Foil below the Level 1 Molded EVA footbed for added heat retention during those sub-zero shred sessions.

Gripping tenaciously over ice and hard-packed snow, the Ruler's DynoGrip sole has multiple traction patterns on the toe, heel, and mid-foot zones. Rubber heel and toe reinforcements stand up to heavy abuse all season long, and B3 Gel cushioning in the heel soaks up huge drops and flat landings when it's time to get freestyle.

the Ruler still rules

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

been riding Rulers since the late 90ies and they are still my boot of choice, they fit albeit the sizing is a bit small (my running shoes are US 9.5, the boots are size 10.5).
I bought these to replace my Ruler EST from last season, 100.000 vertical feet of hiking has been taking its toll... The new ones are quite a bit heavier than the ESTs and A LOT warmer; I'm really looking forward to the latter since I live i Greenland. The design is more sleak, away with those no-good fake laces where snow got jammed.
The speed lacing system seems to have been improved with heavier laces that doesn't coil. I'm still not a big fan of the system, but I like the flexibility of the two zones when hiking.
When riding in slushy Spring snow the boots need some additional silicone spray. Why, Jake?

50day a year rider

The shrink tech was my selling point. Size 13 foot really limits your options on the mountain when it comes to gear. I was psyched to find a boot that did this. Not a big fan of burton bindings hate the forward lean on them but I've always had burton boards until they pulled this est nonsense with them. Let me put a pair of unions on your boards burton! Other than that cant go wrong with burton. Or analog for that matter. I <3 Analog.

Burton boots. only buy Burton boots

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Burton. if you hate 'em, you haven't ridden 'em. They set the standard for the snowboard industry and these boots are no exception. the speed lace system allows you to tighten your boots extremely fast, and they stay that way for the majority of the day. the shrink tech puts you down a size, so if you have some hooves like myself, you can finally fit into whatever board you want! really like the medium stiffness on these. I feel comfortable standing on top of line and enough flex when i decide to roll through the park. I honestly doubt I'll ever buy anything but Burton boots. Thanks Jake for stayin' true and making the best stuff in the game!

Best boots I've had

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are hands down the most comfortable boot ive owned. Previously i had a pair of K2 Datas, and Burton Ions and even though they claim the Ion has an upgraded liner i still found the Rulers more comfortable. And for the price you absolutely cant beat it. Got them heat moulded at my local shop before i used them and they felt great. I wear a size 9.5 running sneaker, basketball sneaker and Burton boot so i would say theyre true to size.
