From hidden powder stashes to massive hits, the Burton Men's Ruler Snowboard Boot owns the mountain. These shred-anything all-mountain boots use micro-articulating cuffs and full-length backstays to give you the right amount of flex and support to ride the deeps in the morning and the terrain park in the afternoon. Burton's Speed Zone lacing system offers independent upper and lower zonal control for quick adjustments when you're in a hurry—like when there's two feet of freshies. Power Panel Technology in the Ruler Boots' heat-moldable liners employs support panels that help them maintain the first-day flex and rebound on the hundredth day you wear them. - Fall 2009.
Bottom Line: Don't let your boots hold you back. Rip up the entire mountain with the Ruler.
These boots were an upgrade on some pretty old boots that I was limping along in for about 3 seasons. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I am a burton man now! I have taken these fellas out durring the day and finnished off with a round of night boarding and the only thing that sucked about the day was it being over. My feet felt great. The Heat molding is really good too. Perfect fit. Make sure you go some where that does it (it is just a bit quicker). I have used these for two solid seasons and have recommended them to all of my pals (all of them that have these boots love'em too). If you are contimplating getting something else, please don't. You'll kick yourself for it later. Oh, and the lacing system is amazing. Just as fast as those damn skiers now.
Been out on the mountain with these boots three times now, and really like them. I think they are super comfy, form well to my foot, toasty when the temp drops and easy to move around in. Speed lacing system is super cool too. I like it much better than the older speed lacing system from Burton from a couple years back.
Overall great boot and no complaints. I would recommend them to anyone looking at them. However, like any new boot, I would recommend breaking them in a little before you hit the slopes for a full day. R

I only got to ride these 4 days so far and may only get to a couple more days this season, but I was pretty pleased. The quick zone lacing was really nice, I could see how it would suck to have them relaced though, but I didn't see any signs of problems yet from mine. The smaller foot print was a nice perk and they they were really comfortable even for the first time with no breaking in. I usually only get 4 to 6 days a season of riding in and for the price and performance I feel as if I got a great deal.
I got the Rulers before last season so I'm not sure if they were 07's or 08's. Either way I don't think they are that much different. I personnaly have had no issues with them. I generally ride once a week during the season in NH so they have seen some action. Every once and a while towards the end of the day I will notice that they have become a little loose, which can be expected cause I like to carve alot. I don't find this to be a problem because for one, I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't actually look at my boot, and two, the lacing system lets me tighten up in less than two secs. As far as quality goes with Burton, I haven't had an issue. I like my boots painfully tight and really crank on the laces and they haven't torn yet. Always been comfortable, warm, and dry.
They are stiffer, but heavier. The ozone has a smaller footprint too, making it better for hiking. This will give you a more dialed in feel, making your board respond faster.
These boots are great for the price. They are nice and light with a small foot print. The quick zone lacing is great. They break in nicely but I have a feeling that they will pack out rather quickly.
Picked up the camo colored Rulers and rode them like Dio's tiger last season. Can't say that I've had a single problem with them. They stay warm, dry, fit is very customizable and they look sweet. Laces up right quick. Definitely get them heat molded if you've got the chance, i've got flat feet and it was worth the extra 10 minutes. If you can pick 'em up on the cheap, go for it.
