Can someone please provide a real picture of the Dolphinium color, I've gotten burned by stock photos a few times recently so I just want to make sure it's really what I'm looking for

Thanks so much

Sorry my man, I don't have one. I think it is pretty close to the picture posted though. Good luck.

Keeps you dry & warm all day

Not only do these pants keep you dry... even through hours in the pouring rain, but they keep you at a perfect temperature. If you start to get hot riding the slopes they have vents that help regulate your temperature. I've never been cold or wet in these.

The large is big enough for me, and I'm 6' 4". I bought in the older style of Mocha Native Plaid.

I'm 6'1 230 and normally wear size 38 jeans...is the XL big enough? are they adjustable at the waist at all?

Responded on

The XL should fit you no problem, there is an adjustable waist in all Burton pants. These pants are great, you will be stoked.

Responded on

I am 6'4"/ 180lbs, the large fit just right. XL should be just right. These are awesome.

hi, im about 5 8" - 5 9" what size should i get if i want them a little baggy but not super baggy?

Responded on

I would say a medium... I'm 6'0" and wear the large which is slightly baggy on me. I think you would be swimming in the Large.

If you want real baggy than you can get the large, and use the internal waist adjusters to bring it in to fit your waist.

All you need is some thin under pants garment and you're good. I bought some thin breatheable pants for 15 bucks and with these pants over them I felt light, unrestricted, and warm. It was 20's on the hill and I was fine. Sat in the snow for 15 minutes, stayed dry and warm.

Responded on

Not knowing how warm these were going to be, I went to the mountain on a 20 degree day wearing regular sweats underneath and was so warm, needed to cool down a couple times.

what does gore-tex mean, and do these pants have it?

Responded on

Gore-tex is a verey xpensive material so these pans would not have it:

Check these:

http://www.dogfunk.com/snowboard/Burton-AK-2L-Gore-tex-Stagger-Pant-Mens/BUR1705M.html

Gore-tex defined: (sorry it gets all tech-e-gnar on ya)

Gore-Tex is a registered trademark of W.L. Gore & Associates, best known for its use in relation to waterproof/breathable fabrics.

Gore-Tex materials are typically based on expanded polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE and other Fluoropolymer products. They are used in a wide variety of applications such as high performance fabrics, medical implants, filter media, insulation for wires and cables, gaskets and sealants.

Gore-Tex material is composed of a thin, porous fluoropolymer membrane, bonded to some fabric, usually nylon or polyester. The membrane has about 9 billion pores per square inch, making it impenetrable for liquid water while allowing the water vapor through. The result is a material that is waterproof and breathable. The outer fabric is additionally treated with water repellent.

The best known application for Gore-Tex fabrics is in outdoor activity clothing. The structure of the fabric forms an effective barrier against wind and rain, while still allowing water vapor to pass through. This helps to keep the wearer warm and dry, while the breath ability allows sweat to escape.

Are these pants insulated? Shall they keep me warm at 5 - 0 F when not snowboarding much? Or should I look for something else?

Best Answer Responded on

no insulation, not very good waterproofing either... you should get at least 10K the best thing to get would be a pair of gore tex pants then you never have to worry about getting wet which makes a huge difference in keeping you warm

Responded on

They are NOT insulated. They have a mesh lining and definitely need to wear a baselayer or thermals underneath in cold weather. I wore a single layer of Under Armor Cold Gear a few weeks back in Okemo, VT and it was single digit temps at the base and negative at the peak.

I disagree with Bristol, they are plenty waterproof for what you pay for. They aren't Goretex or anything, but you aren't paying for goretex. I've worn them for about 10 days of riding so far and I've stayed dry.

Responded on

Waterproofing was great for me, no issues on a deep powder day. for 0-5 degree weather though you probably want a gore-tex or other beathable thermal base layer.

Responded on

Not at all. I spent a whole day in the pouring rain and these kept me dry.

im 6.3 and weigh about 230. i plan on loosing a little bit of weight but not too much. my jean size is 36-38 depending the brand. should i go with the L or the XL? i need them to fit now and later. also i have the brown (mocha) burton poacher jacket. what color pants should i get? i was thinking the mocha native plaid???

Responded on

I would go for the XLs simply based on your height. I'm 6 feet and these pants fit normally in a large. Also, they have internal velcro waist cinches as well as beltloops for a totally dialed fit. Go XL hombre.

Responded on

I'm 5'11" and weigh 235lbs and I got the Redical in XL. The waist is a bit big, I have to wear a belt to keep them from being SUPER baggy. They are Burton's SIG fit so they are supposed to be a bit baggy, but I think it's too much, maybe it's because I'm not a 16 yr old kid.

Unless you like a baggy and very loose fit, you'll probably be ok with the L.

Classic Burton Goodness

A good pant for the price. High quality and standard baggy fit as promised. The best part is the zippered vents on the inseam, the worst is the short length two piece portion at the bottom of the leg that goes inside and outside the boot.

Large... It may be a lil' big around the waist but it has these sweet internal adjusters to tighten the waist without it looking all wacky!
