The Burton Men’s Poacher Jacket features 40g Thermacore insulation to provide enough warmth for chilly mid-winter days without being too hot to wear in the spring. If you do heat up a bit, just open the mesh-lined Underarm zips to chill out. Burton gave this jacket a slim fit for those who aren’t trying to look like gangstas on the slopes. Critically taped seams and 5K-rated Durashell fabric gives you plenty of weather protection without being overkill for sessioning the park on a crystal-clear day. - Fall 2008.

Bottom Line: Not too hot, not too cold… just right.

This jacket is actually a Sig Fit. The description here says Slim Fit, but Burton's website says it is Sig Fit. Just letting everyone know.

Unfortunately the site does not list Burton's fits (Sig, Team etc...) but you can always cross-reference if you have Burton's site and Backcountry open in to different tabs.

Nice jacket

By:
October 31, 2008

Got this jacket as something to keep me warm while around town, so not for snowboarding.I must say i was pleasantly surprised. For the price it is a real nice jacket, kept me warm with only a tshirt underneath while on vacation in Chicago (high 30's-40). Love the pit zips for when you're starting to work up a sweat.
The only thing that I would have liked better would be a bit more room on the arms and maybe on the back, but that's just my body type. Went for the Large and thought of exchanging for XL but fear it would have looked too gangsta so keeping the L.

Looks sick. Some pretty sweet graphics on some versions and some classy, monochrome schemes. The waterproofing and breathability ratings are kinda low, but 5k should be enough for mellow stuff. Read the reviews to get a better picture.

You must be riding in VT or MN. This is not a true shell, it has insulation, but when it gets that cold, you will need to layer up seriously to make this jacket work. If that is what you ride in all the time (help!) you might want more serious insulation.
