Great, but not want I thought.

These are great gloves, but not what I thought. I tried on some in a local store and loved them, but they didn't have my size. So I ordered the black ones online. What came had the same outer shell I had seen in the store, but the liner was different. In the store, the liner had a special "fingerprint pad" on the index finger and thumb that let me use my iPhone touchscreen without taking the liner off. Cool, huh? But what came had standard stretch liners with a sticky grip on the palm side. Still nice gloves, but not what I thought I ordered, and did not work with the iPhone screen. The name Burton Pinnacle Gortex were all the same as the model in the store, there was nothing to indicate they were different.

To Dogfunk's credit, I returned them with no hassles. And if you don't use an iPod or iPhone, what they sent were great gloves. Just be aware there are two kinds of Burton Pinnacle Gortex out there. If they don't go out of their way to say "works with iPad" then the liners probably don't.

Pretty nice gloves but would expect more for the price.

These gloves look pretty nice, are comfy and the sleeves can be tightened down easily. They come with paste to rub into the leather and seems to water proof it, that requires 24 hours to cure. I was not surgical with the application which resulted in discoloration in any non-leather areas of the glove. (especially around seems where the fabric meets leather) The smell from the waterproofing paste is pretty strong, and even after 2 months of use I feel like I cant touch my face or I'll have the smell in my nose for hours.

For the price I would expect these gloves to be a lot better. I've had several pairs of Burton gloves from mid/high price range and these are by far the best, but still leave wanting for something better.

The gloves come with a liner for use in extra cold weather but you might want to size up if you plan to use the liner. While I've plenty of room in in the gloves without the liner, with the liner my curculation was poor resulting in my hands getting really really cold.

So far these gloves have kept my hands warm (coldest use 18F) and dry. Not tested in deep powder or rain yet but I expect they will perform ok.

While I'm not about to trash these gloves and get some others, I would not recommend them.

Great gloves

I have the under glove version of these that I picked up at a burton sample sale late last season. These seem to fit a bit larger than some other gloves (usually a M, but the L fit me in these). If you're on the fence I would go with the larger size. These have always kept my digits warm and dry. I've never really had to think about these gloves and to me that means they're doing their job well. Now, perhaps I got a pre-production version of these gloves, or perhaps someone swiped the liner, but there isn't a removable liner in mine, just a nice fixed microfiber one. Also I didn't see anything about these gloves using outlast nor do I see a zippered pocket...I think backcoutry might have their description a bit off. Great gloves though.

Nit pick: I did notice some wear on the leather already.
