Description

Less is more.

Proving that riding a bigger board isn't necessarily better, the Burton Nug Snowboard offers the nimbleness of an Italian sports car, thanks to its significantly smaller size. Featuring Raduction tech, the Nug Snowboard can be ridden a good 8 to 10 centimeters smaller than your regular all-mountain board, allowing you to use a much lighter, faster turning board through the park and entire mountain. And because it's loaded with a flat-to-rocker Flat Top profile and extended tip and tail contacts (Side Effects), you won't have to sacrifice much in the way of stability when you're launching park jumps and cruising the entire mountain.

Designed with a Super Fly core with Squeezebox, you'll find the Nug offers enhanced turn initiation and better energy transfer to the tip and tail contacts. Its tip and tail have an exaggerated scooped design for catch-free jibbing and better float through untracked snow. Additionally, you'll find the board's tip and tail are super easy to whip around during spins, due to their tapered Pro-Tip construction. As if that's not enough, the kind folks at Burton gave this board a wax-thirsty, fast-gliding sintered base for clearing jumps and anything lying in your path.

Love

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This board is my favorite for all conditions. Cant believe how well it carves at high speeds - good in pow too. Just plain fun.

Playful but a little loose

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am riding this board in a 146 and I usually ride a 150. I would not recommend riding this board a full 10 cm down from what you normally ride. The 4 cm down size is plenty and you can notice it as soon as you get on the snow. I rode the 142 and it was fun but hitting jumps and larger drops the 142 got a little loose in the landings so I moved up to the 146 and I can say that I can ride this all over the mountain. You will feel some chatter at very high speeds but for a board to charge pow and have an overall good time on the hill I would say give the Nug a try!
