    Freestyle prodigy.

With its freestyle-focused design and comfort-enhancing features, it's little wonder that the Malavita Re:Flex Snowboard Binding has become the go-to choice for Burton team riders Mark McMorris, Danny Davis, and Zak Hale. Like a luxury sports car, it uses top-end tech to deliver the perfect combination of comfort and performance, so you can charge lap after lap with a smile on your face.

A responsive baseplate provides the power and precision needed to carve icy pipe walls, launch kickers, and blast pow turns. The medium-flexing Canted Living Hinge highback is tweakable for styling out grabs and jibs, but it's still supportive enough to handle the biggest hits in the jump line. Heel Hammock lets you run your straps a little looser while still maintaining a responsive connection, meaning you get lightning-fast edge-to-edge transitions without squeezing the feeling out of your foot.

The Hammockstrap ankle strap has a nylon strip running down the center that gives you a direct connection to your board at all times, meaning your board instantly responds to your every command. Plus, the asymmetric shape is reversible to allow you to choose between power or mobility. At the front, the Supergrip Capstrap locks down your boot securely without creating pressure points, so you'll never have to sweat about it slipping off mid-run. Double Take buckles have teeth on both sides to make clicking in faster, smoother, and, not to mention, more secure.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Burton Malavitas are the top pick for Men's Freestyle bindings on Transworld Snowboarding's Gear Guide, and for good reason. Burton is killing it in the strap game, and the new hammock straps are by far the most comfortable straps on the market. They hug your boot really well without causing pressure points. These come at a Medium flex (5/10) that attracts more Freestyle-focused riders as well as people trying to progress.

    Freestyle feel, All Mountain performance

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This binding is an interesting one. Carpet testing and in hand feel had me guessing that it would be too soft. However once on the mountain it proved to have enough balls to make a wind scoured hardpack day fun. If you are looking to shred the whole mountain with a freestyle preference this is the binding for you. Super comfortable, Burton has some of the better straps in the game. If you are looking at getting a binding of this level you already know why you should buy it. If you want to go stiffer, get the Genesis which is my favorite binding from Burton.

    Cant go wrong.

On my second pair of Malavitas and they just keep getting better. Perfect flex for freestyles/all mountain. My 2016 model got 90 days on them last year and are still in great condition so I bought the 2017's to add to the quiver. Toe cup is the best on the market in my opinion. Hammock strap leaves no pressure points no matter how hard you crank it down. The way the strap flips out of the way is awesome for a quick strap up. Careful I have stomped on it getting off the lift (only happened couple times).

    Burton's Do-It-All-Binding

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these in the Re:Flex and EST and put these on the lower end of the mid-stiff spectrum in regards to flex. I put these just below the Genesis bindings in regards to flex. These are definitely a bit more oriented to the park/freestyle rider that wants a bit more give in their bindings without them being a pair of noodles. Overall they handle super well on hardpack and hitting kickers. I put these as Burton's truest "all-around" binding.
