Description

Throw those Pirelli's on the whip.

We didn't know how long it would last, but Burton has once again teamed up with Pirelli to kick up the grip on the Ion Snowboard Boots. What that means for you is all the Burton tech you'd expect, like a Speed Zone lacing system and a super comfy Infinite Ride 4 liner. Plus, they're sitting on a sole built by one of the world's foremost tire manufacturers. Which basically makes these supercars for your feet. They may not have gull wing doors, but they're way better than a Lambo for dropping cliffs and sending hits.

  • Dual zone Speed Zone lacing system
  • Medium-stiff flex
  • Power Up 3D molded tongue
  • Shrinkage footprint reduction technology
  • Dual-density AutoCANT cushioning

Great Boot

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great boot to do it all with. Great support with enough flex to really have fun with. The Pirelli rubber is ridiculously grippy too. May not be the best for people who battle with heal lift, but I've managed to dial in the fit well despite having this issue in the past. They do run a bit small. I'm normally a 9.5 and had to get a 10

Awesome boot!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This boot is truly awesome! It gives you the perfect stiffness for all-mountain feel and responsiveness. The boot goes well with the Burton Diode EST binding and the Burton Custom X. The boot has a ton of great features and Burton has outdone themselves yet again. This boot is true to fit, so if you are an 11.5 you most likely will be an 11.5 in this boot. Regardless the heat mold liner makes life so much better.

Frustration with a happy ending?

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I gave this as a gift and it was a little frustrating for us. Normally he wears a size 9.5 in all boots, but it would seem that these run a little small so we had to return the first pair and size up. Once we got the size 10.0 he put them on to go riding for the first time and the inner lacing closure was broken. Luckily Burton is really good about warranties, so they got a new piece out to us so the entire boot wouldn't have to be returned.

After a week of riding on them, he loves how they feel on his feet and the fact that the toe cap is hard cover so it won't get eaten up as easily by the bindings. I'd say the hassle of getting the boots was definitely worth it in my opinion!
