Description

Riding disturbingly fast has never felt so natural.

The Burton Diode EST Snowboard Binding is redefining what is possible in terms of lightweight construction, instant response, and anatomically-correct mobility. Boasting Burton's all-new The Hinge technology, the Diode's baseplate and heelcup move independently to improve foot roll and make lateral movements more ergonomic. But this is no gooey park-rat binding—the carbon-composite baseplate and highback deliver the same lightning-fast response you've come to expect from previous models like the C02 and C60.

  • The Hinge lets your heelcup and baseplate move independently for improved foot roll and more natural weight transfers
  • EST technology allows your snowboard to flex more naturally by replacing a rigid baseplate/disc setup with pliable padding
  • ShredBED 3.0 cushioning system balances shock absorption and underfoot board feel
  • Stiff flex and React strap instantly transfer energy for powerful turns at critical speeds
  • Compatible exclusively with Burton Channel boards

Light, sexy...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Theses are some great bindings. I ride them with my Mr Nice Guy and my Burton ION boots. They are light and very responsive. However, the coating on the carbon fiber wears off after a few days and after a few weeks you are pretty much rid of the rubberised coating and left with the raw carbon fiber! I actually really like the exposed carbon fiber so am giving these 5 starts. but if you are one of those peeps who likes everything to look new all the time... then these may not be for you.

I'll post a picture if anyone's interested.

I have noticed that with the last years Burton bindings I have had to drop from a Lare to a Medium. I take a size 10US boot, which used to fit the large bindings just perfect, but now they tend to wiggle and run out of strap.. so I've dropped to a M

Are these compatible with a 2011 Lib Tech Dark Series or only with Burton boards with the ICS?

Responded on

Only with Burton Channel Boards until someone else starts marking boards with a Channel in them. However, the Burton Diode (not EST) is compatible.

Responded on

Burton Diode EST is not compatible, however the Diode does come in the Re:Flex which is compatible with the four hole pattern of the Lib Tech mounting System. Re:Flex allows for similar board flex that you get out of the EST on the channel. Look of the Diode Re:Flex and watch the video!
