    Great for everything

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use my riders pack for school, hiking, snowboarding, and just about everything else. It's the perfect size and weight. I've had mine for a year and now I'm getting a second ( not because it's breaking but because I stepped on one of the belt clips with my cowboy boots and craked it. %100 my fault.) I recommend this bag for anyone who wants a long lasting versatile bag.

    Pretty good pack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My wife and I ended up getting these for each other as Christmas gifts. I'm replacing an older Burton bag that had seen better days after over a decade of use for college, general hauling and, of course, snowboard trips.

As other reviewers have mentioned, it can be a bit bulky and does have more of a "bookbag" shape, but this is a pretty good bag for the price point. The board straps work pretty well, a feature I really liked on my last Burton bag and the laptop sleeve in the main compartment doubles as a reservoir holder for a camelback or similar.

For what I use it for (occasionally for trips to work and several times a year on the slopes for water and extra articles of clothing, I think this is a great bag. If you're more of a hardcore user, you might be better off getting one of the more high-tech packs.

I got one of these to try hauling some stuff, but too bulky and in the end not really efficient. I ended up using it as a commute pack and then later downgraded to the closet. Not really happy with the design for any winter activity as it is bulky and well, just not designed very well. More of a book bag than anything.
