When you've elevated your shredability to the type of ninja-style insanity in your favorite vids, then step up to the Burton Custom X Snowboard and ride the ultimate all-mountain freestyle weapon. From brain-bending speeds, to Kong-size airs and spins, this ICS-kitted monster is the clear choice of Burton pros Frederik, Kazu, Peetu, and Marko. Burton super-tuned the legendary Custom Snowboard to make the Custom X faster, more responsive, and snappier than your boss on Monday mornings. All this adds up to you shredding the sickest terrain on the planet with no regard for hesitation, holding back, or ever coming in second place. *We can't control the color of board you get, but who doesn't like surprises?

  • The Channel - binding mounting system gives you infinite options for tweaking binding setup and improves board feel (works with Burton 3D & EST bindings)
  • Dragonfly wood core with Positive Profile & Multizone EGD; drives you through turns, improves edge hold, carving precision and response
  • Vaportech Vaporskin uses a carbon blend to reduce weight while magnifying feel and response
  • Lightning Bolts radiate power and response outward from The Channel for instant energy transfer and effortless precision
  • Carbon I-Beam adds pop and longitudinal snap
  • Pro-Tip shape reduces swing weight so you can get even dizzier
  • Infinite Ride ensures that the Custom X Snowboard has maximum pop and strength and rides with a consistent feel from the first day to infinity

Amazing board

By:

This board is amazing. Its great for the intermediate going into advance rider. The board is stiff and has great edge-hold, making it truly a board for plowing down mountains at high speed. I went down slopes that would normally be very bumpy on my old board, felt so smooth with the Custom X. This is a definite good buy.

I've been riding a Rome Flag 163 for the past 3 seasons and was looking to buy a new board, hoping to save a few bucks and go with the Custom X from this past season. I'm 6'2" 185lbs with 11.5 boot. I'm looking to go a bit down on board size as I was looking at this 160, but will it be wide enough for me at only 248mm waist width?

The 160 has a waist width of 250. I think you should be fine. Duck you stance out a bit and run it. I love this board, and I know you will too.

Channel+EST=Tight

Alright so the last burton that i had was a canyon from i think 2002 and just on pure comparison, though they are different widths, you can see how technology has changed the way we ride the boards and the way the boards ride the mountain. I wasn't completely sold on the EST channel system when i first saw posts of it on youtube, and since i live in Thailand there aren't too many ski shops around (HAHAHA), but after using it for the first time in Japan for ten days, I am completely sold. In the future Burton will probably add another kind of stabilization vice on the binding for them to be mechanically more secure, but after the ride, i foresee no problems with the set up as is. The way the binding mount with only two screw perplexes me, but f the perplex-ion, the ride stance set ups on this thing are infinite. And you can literally jog down in your notebook a quantified precise degree measurement. I do like riding with Palmer PLS mounts under my bindings and you can't use them with these two killer burton items, but i guess you can't have it both ways...unless anyone out there knows a way to do it?So overall, awsome board with alot of pop, stiff but not too, great for backcountry or the park (really awsome for the park, the board actually inspires confidence (danger for the newbs)). And the channel with est is money in the bank

Will any bindings work with this board. I bought a pair of Ride's last year that I like, curious if they would work with this board.

My understanding is that every Burton board that comes with the ICS system, also comes with an adapter plate. This allows you to mount any 3 or 4 hole base plate, into the new ICS slots.

Nasty Sic Board

I live by this board, I bought last years model over a year ago and I carved up Blue/BB/Jack Frost all in one day and asked for more. One hell'a sic ride shreddin snow/ice it doesn't matter. This board is a one stop shop, be it you're lookin to just carve down the mountain or spend some time in the park. A definite must buy, and I love the EST bindings.

Review Title

I snowboard only about 5 days a year, but i like to go fast and make big turns, the turn radius on the custom x is pretty large, I ride a 164 and it works perfectly on fast groomers. It's pricey but the base is super durable and it goes fast. Burton has great customer service too which is a bonus.

Made the switch in the early 90's to snowboarding and finally found my "special stick" a few years ago and haven't looked back. If you want a board that can hang with you anywhere, in my opinion this is it. I'm about 5'9" 160 and ride a '60. Trees, steeps, bumps, drops, pow, you name it - this is my go-to. (Though I also keep a bigger powder board around for those just right days). Don't spend too much time in the park anymore, but there's enough pop here to keep me from embarrassing myself in front of the kids. holds up pretty well too.. my last customX lasted 2.5 seasons of pretty hard riding at Kirkwood.
