Description

Razor-sharp precision for riders pushing the limits.

Burton team riders Kazu Kokubo and Freddi Kalbermatten rely on the Custom X's powerful, precise, and insanely lightweight ride to take apart 22-foot superpipes and mammoth-sized backcountry features alike. All-new for 2013, the 45° Carbon Highlights cut even more weight without compromising the laser-quick energy transfer that makes the Custom X so rippable at speed.

  • All-new 45° Carbon Highlights reduce weight while maintaining a rigid torsional flex for an aggressive, quick-reacting ride
  • Traditional camber profile offers the best possible edge grip, pop, and high-speed control
  • Lightning Bolts Hi-Voltage transfer energy from your bindings to your edges for powerful, responsive turns
  • Stainless-steel Frostbite edges resist corrosion to stay samurai-sharp, and extend out slightly for your binding zones for otherworldly grip on firm snow
  • Dragonfly core with Multizone EGD is Burton's lightest, most advanced wood core for ultimate pop and response at minimal weight
  • Squeezebox construction strategically profiles the board's core for a dialed tip-to-tail flex and maximum ollie power
  • Sintered WFO base is wax-infused for supersonic speed
  • The Channel mounting system allows infinite stance options and improves your board's natural flex (compatible with all Burton bindings and some others—check with your binding manufacturer)

This board rocks!!! So much fun...only had it for a day but I love the way it turned. Burton knows whats up for sure. They've been making killer boards since the dawn of riding.

This board is not for beginners or really even intermediate riders. If you don't have the strength or experience of a seasoned rider then this board will buck you and bring you down hard and fast. Even if you manage to stay on your feet it will tire you out. So if you are thinking of this as your first board I recommend the regular Custom (rocker or camber).

That said this board is amazing, I ride pretty aggressively and this board has never let me down, not to mention it's built like a tank. This board just wants to go fast and turn hard, and the more you give it the more it holds a carve. Even the wide version is lighting fast from edge to edge. I take it to the resorts and backcountry and it's at home in both. It's a little on the heavy side but that doesn't bother me. If you like a stiff and fast setup this should be the only board you are considering.

I'm 5'7 125 pounds and I ride park and resort what would be the best size for me?

I would recommend the 152 for a more agile and quicker turning board, and the 156 for a stiffer more powder friendly board (although the 156 maybe too big for you). You're pretty light weight so all the Custom X's are going to be really stiff for you, but you'll pop higher than your friends.

This board rides so well. Floats beautifully in deep powder and carves on hard pack. lots of pop for boosting off stuff. It tracks really well when laid flat on the snow at high speeds. Probably not the best ride if your into reverse cambered boards. This one isn't as forgiving as reverse camber but offers a lot more performance underfoot.

The upgrade to the Custom. The Custom X is for those who want an aggressive board and a competitive edge over the rest. The Custom X is board choice of Burton?s team rider and heavy hitter, John Jackson.

what kind of conditions do you ride in and are you a pow rider, park, or all mountain? this burton is going to not as heavy as the ride and also a bit softer. i hope this helps.
