Long a favorite of pro riders and hard-charging civilians, the Burton Custom Bindings balance performance and practicality. The baseplate has a forgiving flex that feels surfy and playful over park hits and solid on speed runs. The rotatable highback has a tool-free forward lean and a streamlined design to reduce weight without sacrificing turn initiation or support. Highback padding eliminates calf bite, while EVA padding and adjustable gas pedals on the baseplate absorb shock and improve board feel. The 3D Primostrap and Burton's famous Capstrap lock your heel into the back of the binding for an unreal ride. *Available for US shipment only. -
Fall 2008.
Bottom Line: Go with the Burton Custom Bindings for freestyle dominance.
This is to ask another question, What about the straps i bought 14s burton boots and bought the new k2 sonic bindings and one of the straps is having a hard time catching is it going to be like that always with such a big boot?
No, I think you would be ok. I had 13s in Burton boots at one point and also have Burton Custom bindings, and they were fine. So I don't think one more size would do much. The bindings have an adjustable plate by the toe that you can extend out like four notches. It adds a little length to them for ya.
These bindings are so customizable that at first it took a while to get them set up. Now they're the template for my other bindings. after a 100+ days they're still holding up, the high back broke in a way I cannot understand how (along the side toward the top) Little duct tape and still shredding. the ONLY negative, boots won't all fit this binding, they have to be wide. my 32 Prions are too narrow but the 32 Lashed fit great. I'm sure any Burton boot will fit fine.
Well these above are obviously Burton Customs which are a decent binding. Not top of the line, but they'll certainly work. As for Burton Mission bindings, they are a nice binding as well. Poncho Villa? not in stock at backcountry. Your 10.5 boot will be perfect for a medium. If a medium is out of stock, you could also purchase a large and still be ok.

Not bad, I had hopes for something a little more durable the straps come loose a bit occasionally and the toe strap does not tighten correctly but overall they get the job done. p.s. in my experience burton bindings tend to run a little big.
Sorry if this links a bit dead I just bought myself a GNU park pickle and was looking around for some half decent bindings to go with it, after spending like $515 on the board, i dont have amazingly alot of cash left over and i heard these bindings where quite good for the price....can anyone tell me if they'd know whether they'd fit my board or if you have any other suggestions for me. Size 10, so probably looking at the medium ?
They should be able to fit, Burton uses 3 hole to strap down on a Burton board, but they should come with extra screws that can be screwed into your GNU. So yes, they SHOULD fit.
If you take some time to adjust them to your boots right after you take them out of the box, they will be your friend for years. Easy to adjust and durable. No complaints at all. I'd buy them again.
So I was wondering what kind of board these will fit on... Will they work with a Ride or K2 board? Is there some way to look that up, or is everything just compatable with everything else? Also, I actually got the Custom YO! Bindings, I assumed that they were the same as these but with different coloring. Was I wrong?
These will fit on any board with any mounting system, thats right, Burtons 3D, Burtons ICS, and every other companies 4X4 (I have these and i put em on a ride Concept TMS)...everything is not compatible with everything else but thats only in a few cases.
also the custom Yo's! are the same but with different colors and an upgraded toe strap, i just ordered those too :-)
Bought these bindings to learn freeriding and I haven't been disappointed at all. Incredibly adjustable: strap length and highback lean are tool-free, get a screwdriver for highback rotation, strap placement, gaspedal, and stance of course. Straps are extremely comfortable, I use a large binding with 11.5 Burton Motos and the fit is excellent, the cap strap is very secure in comparison with an over-the-toe setup and hasn't given me any pressure points. Like other reviewers I found that the ratchets have a tendency to slip when you get them very tight, but I think there are two ways around this: (1) deal with it because when the ratchet starts slipping, it's probably tight enough and more is going to compress the boot and hurt your foot; (2) but if you're really desperate for more tightness, put your fingers on the body of the ratchet while you tighten with your thumb (pressing in towards your boot) so it cannot slip. Since all of the entry to mid level Burton bindings I've seen use the same ratchets, this can't be a Custom-unique problem. Anyway, I've found them to be all-around excellent bindings to learn on, and definitely suggest putting them on your board if you're in the same situation.
i have the dc phases in size eleven and they seem kinda long will these work in medium or will i have to go with large. im actually a size 9.5 in shoes but i fit only in eleven boots will this effect my riding
no. taylor do yourself a favor and listen to the guys who's owned this exact model with bulky DC boots size 11, go for the Mediums and you will even have room to spare.
Good price on a good overall binding. Like others have said the ratchet does tend to slip on the straps when you get them tight. As a result, I have had some problems with the left toe strap coming up on the boot during hard riding. I wear a 10 and got a medium...but I'd recommend going with a large.
height doesnt effect binding choice, go for the mediums tho, the size chart is wrong and I had mediums with my 11 DC balance boots and they fit perfect
This is my 2nd set of customs of this year. I bought the clear/frosted white ones but wanted the black ones. as soon as I saw them hit Brociety they were mine. I now have a spare pair! They are a decently wide binding for the size. meaning they will fit your moon boots fine! The cap straps are super nice and I haven't had any problems like I've read about the ratchets. They are Burton so if someone had ratchet problems Burton would replace them for free. If you are looking for a great really comfortable freestyle/all mtn binding these are a great choice!
Write your question here...hey i was wondering if i bought these burton customs would they work on my new imperial 5150 board or will they not work because they're different brand names
I wear a mens 7 snowboard boot and just bought a used board with Burton Custom Bindings size L. The bindings are way too big but I would like to replace them with the same kind of bindings. Are the Burton Custom Bindings unisex and what size should I get to fit a mens 7 boot?
You can definitely use them as a women's binding. Since they have a medium flex, there's nothing that really denotes them as a men's only binding. Get a small for the size 7; snug fit.
You should be ok with a medium but this depends on your boot. What boots do you ride currently? Some boots have a much larger profile than others. For example, the ION is a very low profile boot and would fit just fine. Hope this helps!
Sizing Chart gives you a choice between med and lrg. 8-11 for med, 10+ for large. It's up to you Alex. If your foot is still growing, rock the large. You have a good pair of burton binds for a while then
Easy setup, nothing to complain about. Very adjustable, but most bindings are. They do have a fair amount of flex to them, not rock-solid. Also (on my board at least), they tend to be a bit loose (maybe 1/16th of an inch play all the time, left to right), even though I've tightened them as much as I can without stripping anything. Doesn't seem to affect my riding though.
?...well theres two adjustmets...one is changing the position of the strap up and down, to do that you simply unscrew the straps where they are connected to the binding and move them to one of the other 3 holes, and screw em back in...the other adjustmet is the position of the ankle strap left to right, just find a screw on the strap, opposite end of the ratchet, unscrew it...slide the ankle strap to the desired position and then screw the screw back in if there is a hole, if there isnt a hole then you went to far left or right...admitedley i found it hard to describe these processes in words but they are very very simple concepts and are almost the same for every binding out there, so it would be a good idea to get these simple maintnence/tuning methods down pat...(adjustment 1) you want your ankle strap angle to cut the angle that your boots make in half, or at least as close as possible for maximum energy transfer...(adjustmet 2) you want your ankle strap to centered on your boot when tightened down all the way, this can take a few tries to get right but it will elminate pressure pointspardon my rambling but i hope that helps
They work pretty well and look great, but the only problem I have is with the straps. First of all, they came preset for doll-feet, which is no big deal as they were easily adjustable. But, the straps can't be tightened all the way, and sometimes there is slipping of the strap/buckle so that it gets loose.
I can't decide whether to get the medium or Large. I wear a size 10 boot. Kinda in between sizes. I have the cartels now in a large, but there is alot of strap left. Any recommendations?
MEDIUM!!!!!!...burtons size chart can screw with peoples set ups, i hate it...10 is medium DEFINITLY!...i got 11 burton and dc boots and medium burton bindings fit me puuuuuuurfectly, so larges are way too big for you
I find these bindings to be pretty good. The make controling my board easy. However the ratchets aren't all that great. The toe ratchets are always slipping during adjusting. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price. Found them cheapest on backcountry.com.
they suck they broke within a week if u ride kinda hard at all then dont buy them go for the expensive ones or a different company reccomend a different company like flux or ride or head ne thing thats actually good
I have a pair of the Custom Brew and the Custom Detox. I had a strap rip on the Custom Brew called Burton and they had me a new strap in less then a week, for free. Totally cool about it. I LOVE the toe straps.
i really like em but on the first run down the mountain when i got them new, the seam on the toe strap ripped right across front. it still works but the whole "new STRONG binding" certainly doesnt come to mind.
These bindings are so customizable that at first it took a while to get them set up. Now they're the template for my other bindings. after a 100+ more...
Not bad, I had hopes for something a little more durable the straps come loose a bit occasionally and the toe strap does not tighten correctly but overall more...
