The Kids' Custom Smalls Snowboard brings the performance and versatility of Burton's highly popular design to the mountain's smallest rippers. Burton didn't hold back on materials—this board includes a poppy Super Fly core and a fast Lightspeed Vision base to create pro-level performance in a tiny package. Just picked up this board (about ~131 to ~133) for my 11-year
Just picked up this board (about ~131 to ~133) for my 11-year old son at a ski swap, and it's in really good shape given it's age. I'm trying to figure out if I can at least get two seasons out of the board (this one and next) before he grows out of it. I thought board length was tied more to his height but from reading other posts for this board weight seems to be a significant factor too. He's currently 5'0" and 78 lbs, will likely grow another few 3"-4" in the next year but put on no more than 5 lbs. His skill level is between beginner and intermediate.

This is awesome for him!!!!!!!! For the last two seasons i rode a 09 burton custom 140cm and im 14 i am glad to see someone else is gong to enjoy this board

how come someone 5'1 100 pounds can ride a 131 board but
how come someone 5'1 100 pounds can ride a 131 board but someone 4'11 100 pounds can ride a 140?

They should/could theoretically be riding the same size board as weight is the primary determining factor. experience, strength, etc. are also a factor and a shorter board will be easier for beginners to handle initially.

I bought this board for my niece, who is learning to snowboard and she loved the design. She has tried this board out and says the board is pretty easy to use. Her boyfriend thought it was a great board and he couldn't believe the price! Thanks Gear Experts! Very pleased!

yes they are compatible :-) just use the 4 holes on the left and right...And in foresight his board will be compatible with any type of bindings except Burton EST bindings

Not at all, its actually a little on the big size. Good though because then you can grow into it and it will last you a few years.

Hello, I'd like to buy my son a this board (135) for his birthday. Since the end of the 09' season is near, i'd like to get him something that would be the right size next year - he's growing fast. Currently 4'7" and 75 pounds. Rides mostly Blue runs, some black, and progression parks. Is this the right size/board?

hmmmm, im not sure how fast hed grow but a 135 would give him room to grow 35 pounds, hes right on the bottom line of the weight range for the 135...so it probaly be perfect for him, and this is a very good board for that kind of riding

yep, you are right in the 140 weight range...and it will do you good for the next two years because a 140 board will give you room to grow 35 pounds

I am 6'1, 225lb. I currently ride a 162 burton king and feel

I currently ride a 162 burton king and feel that I can use a more flexible and perhaps slightly longer board which I assume should help me turn/slow down faster and exert less energy. (right/wrong?). From what I am reading Custom wide sounds like a good board for me. Should I be going with a 167? Are there other boards that I should consider? I mainly carve with an occasional adventure into the moguls to entertain skier friends.

just so you know you asked this question on the kids cutsom page haha...but that aside, a shorter board with softer flex will help you exert less energy, the board will "give" a little more and you will have less board to kick around...and the custom will be great for you because it is a very versatile board

The Feelgood is the female version of the Custom. It's a bit softer. I would suggest a 125 Feelgood. The extra length is perfect for carving. As far as boots go, the best one is the one that fits well. Sounds obvious, but she should try several models on. Boots are the one item you don't want to skimp on at any age.
