Start your up-and-coming ripper on the right foot with the Burton Kids' Chopper Snowboard. Tuned with a softer, easy-turning flex pattern and catch-free convex base, the Chopper pushes your grom's progression from linking first turns on the bunny hill to charging down blue squares. Its twin shape allows for effortless regular and switch riding, which is especially useful for beginners mastering falling leaf before transitioning to heel-to-toe carving. Additionally, its totally flat profile makes the Chopper extremely stable without it being overly aggressive like many traditional camber boards.

The board's Easy Rider convex base upturns the base edges along the contacts (i.e., zones responsible for initiating turns). Basically, Easy Rider allows beginners to initiate turns without catching an unexpected edge and subsequently tumbling down the hill. Other key features include a tip-to-tail wood core for a smooth, consistently soft flex that's tuned for lightweight riders. Add in biax fiberglass for incredibly easy turn initiation, as well as a low-maintenance extruded base.

Please note that this board is fully compatible with Burton's Riglet Reel (sold separately), which allows you to pull your child to get him/her accustomed to riding—with or without bindings attached. This retractable nylon leash attaches to the board's nose, acting as an on-snow chauffeur for first-time riders.
