Burton's Learn to Ride program is probably the most successful program on the planet for getting little girls linking their first turns. The Big B took everything they've learned and applied it to the Chicklet girls' snowboard to make learning to ride a piece of cake. Featuring a Flat Top profile with an Easy Rider convex base, it's just about impossible to catch an edge, which means fewer  faceplants and more smiles. It's way easier to learn to snowboard when you're having fun, and between relaxed feel and sweet graphics, that won't be a problem. The scratch-and-sniff top sheet is just an added bonus.

The chopper runs Burton's Flat Top profile with Easy Rider. Like you probably guessed, that means it's flat, with a touch of rocker in the tip and tail for a catch-free ride. The twin shape keeps little girls shredding ambidextrously and progressing like crazy, whether they're still doing the falling leaf, or they're working on switch turns. There's a Fly core that's profiled for lighter riders, and, combined with the biax fiberglass construction, it yields and easy flex. The extruded base runs fast even if you don't wax it every day, and it's a piece of cake to repair should the need arise.

best way to learn

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First: it's adorable. Better than that, it's virtually the only board I could imagine my kiddo learning on. The convex base is such a lifesaver. I wish they had that when I learned! It is almost impossible to catch an edge and therefore leads to more fun, less frustration, and quicker learner. What else could you ask for?!
