If you want to master the shrediverse, the Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding better be rockin’ under your feet. This super-lightweight binding maxes out on comfort thanks to FullBED and B3 Gel Heel Cushioning, while the ergonomically canted Team Skyback II highback and the super-minimized Ultra Capstrap give you the control you need to rule over the gapers like a god.

  • Living Hinge Team Skyback II Highback eliminates excess hardware and weight and allows you to adjust your forward lean for ultimate control
  • Cored Ultrastrap Air ankle strap minimizes bulk while providing excellent hold
  • Ultra Capstrap toe strap rides over your foot or toe for control and comfort

I ride em all over the mountain. Really comfortable, great response, great options to customize your fit. I basically agree with all the other good things that other people have said.

Killer Bindings!

By:
April 5, 2010

These bindings are excellent. So light and adjustable. My previous bindings were 10 year old NCM's (not even around anymore) and the difference is night and day. With these Burtons my feet feel like they are bolted to the deck, compared to my old bindings. That results in so much better control, it's amazing! Love these things.

Yes. The large fit boot sizes from 10.5 and higher. The cartel is an amazing binding.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Great bindings. I started the season with two pairs of cartels. A set of 09's and an older set. The baseplate on the older pair blew up and burton replaced with a set of 10's no questions asked. The new ones are sweet. Improvements were made on the baseplate cushion and I love the way the straps feel. Cartels are definitely my favorite binders for all mountain riding and you can't beat the lifetime warranty on the baseplates...1 yr on everything else. Definitely will continue to purchase in the future and recommend to buddies.

Perfect All Around Binding

By:
April 1, 2010

"Downgraded" from an older set of P1 Carbons and was skeptical at how well these would perform. I've been blown away by the overall responsiveness of the binding as well as how much more comfortable the straps are while still providing a high level of support. I rocked them on hard pack, some slush and some fresh tree action and didn't feel they were lacking in any situation. Can't attest to any superpark type stuff but overall they're amazing for the price!

excelent all mountain bindings

I got my cartels late in the season. I've ridden them 5 full days in very different conditions and I got to say that they are amazing in all weather. From fresh powder to the slushy closing day groomers board control and comfort are unparalleled. I am not a park rat so i can't vouch for them in the rails and big ramps, but if you do groomers, hit the fresh powder and do the occasional jump this are the bindings for you.

The only drawback i have found is some ice buildup at the baseplate when you expand it. but that's just a couple of seconds extra of the lift.

Amazing Adjustability

By:
January 8, 2010

I really love these bindings because they're so customizable. You can adjust almost every part to fit any stance.

The biggest plus for me is the Skyback, and the fact that you can adjust the forward lean to a sharper angle than most other bindings. Since I'm 6' 2" I really need to crouch to get in a stable stance. The bigger highback at a sharper angle gives me a more responsive ride, and quicker edge-to-edge transitions. Putting the capstrap over my toe lets me crank my boot back into the heel cup and holds everything tight.

They've held up well for more than a full season now. There's some wear on the fabric, and some of the baseplate padding is starting to rub off, but I expect that. Overall, I'm really happy with these bindings and plan on buying them again when I get a new board.

Pretty sure Burton guarantees the baseplate for life anyway (assuming you broke it while snowboarding).
