Description

The classic cargo cut from a different cloth.

The utilitarian shred pant that is the Burton Cargo Pant is often imitated, never duplicated and always asked for by name among novices and seasoned vets alike. The Cargo Pant doesn't stop at 10K waterproofing and everything-but-the-kitchen-sink storage; fully taped seams, Test-I-Cool venting, and Anti-Scuff cuffs help to round out this versatile shred pant.

  • DryRide Durashell 2-layer fabrication places a 10K-rated waterproof and breathable membrane on the backside of the light but sturdy shell, which is then is coated with an additional DWR finish
  • Fully taped seams enhance your riding experience by sealing out moisture along all stitching to keep you from getting sogged out
  • Burton's Sig Fit is the classic fit for freedom in movement and layering—an articulated design and slight taper keep things from looking overly baggy
  • Test-I-Cool zippered inseam mesh venting cools down your boys from the heat of making all those hot laps through the park
  • Set-And-Forget Ghetto Slits at hem can be zippered open and flared out over your boots or zipped up for a more boot-cut look—either way, you won't have to mess with them once you choose your style
  • Anti-Scuff cuff reinforces the pant's cuffs from wear and tear caused by asphalt and clumsy ski edges
  • Bellowed cargo pockets provide plenty of extra storage for all your small to medium accessories

Strong & durable. Feature packed.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I got these last year and I have used them for 4 days of snowboarding. I spend a lot of time just sitting in the snow and these kept me warm and dry. I wouldn't say that these are insulated but the thickness of the outer material provides some warmth. I wore only a thin synthetic baselayer pant underneath and I was warm and dry all day in about 30-35 degrees. The fabric that makes up these pants is (like other reviewers have commented) soft to the touch and pliable but also thick and tough. I wasn't worried about snagging when the trees got thick.

The waist features 3 loops (2 side, 1 back) for powder skirt integration. A loop for your lift ticket. Velcro/elastic waist adjustment. The hand pockets are lined with a very soft, warm material. The cargo pockets are not bulky but they will hold what you need. There is a snap on the back of the calves to keep the bottom of the pant from dragging in the muck in the parking lot. The gaiters fit my board boots well and have a hook that grabs onto by boot laces to keep the gaiter from riding up.

I am 5'11", 185 lb and I have a 32" waist. I got the medium and the fit is good for snowboarding. I have to cinch the velcro straps and tight as they will go to get this to fit my waist but I typically keep them a little looser to allow my fleece layer to be tucked in. I typically wear a 32" inseam and the length on these is just fine.

I like these pants because of the fit and the tough, waterproof material. Also, I got the Heron blue which is basically royal and they look great. They are not shiny like most pant materials.

hey i'm 6'4 about 190 and wear a 33" waist. Do you think the XL's would be fine? i had nomis pants that were larges last year but still had that in the water look. i kind of want a baggier look this year

Responded on

Hey Von, XL would be huge on you. Its meant to fit a 36"-38" waist and with it being a sig fit its going to be a little baggier. Hope this helps. Feel free to call or chat in if you need anything else.

How you fit so good?

I am a beast! 6'3" 315 lbs of agile goatboy. I'm built like Larry Tate Office Linebacker (years of college sports will do that), so finding outdoor clothes that aren't off the racks of Blaine's Farm & Fleet Plus Size Farmer is somewhat of a challenge. So when I see a company say XXL I know what they consider XXL is usually not up to par with what my booty needs. But when a quality pant is priced so low it's hard not to take a chance.
Yes... I said quality...for all of you Burton Haters out there, sometimes it's about the quality, not what brand you do or don't rock. At this stage of the game Burton to me is like Shimano, it's going to end up somewhere in my gear or my ride regardless, because they make good s**t,
So I put these pants on out the box and they were snug, kind of thought they were done for but I brought them with just in case I blew the ass out of yet another pair of pants. 2nd day out I decided to give them a go, and to my surprise by the 2nd run they had stretched out! Throughout the day I was aggressively powder slashing the trees, switch threeing the big booters with deep indy grabs and apres, I was able to keep my steezy mojo vibe flowing all without fear of looking like I was in some spray on jeans.
I only gave them 4 stars, not because of the technical features, which are perfect, but becuase they only have 2XL. Someone needs to make a 3XL...yeah I said it!

Comfy while styling

I've tried several burton pants, sessions and 686 pants, and they are no comparison to burton cargo pants. they are light, comfy and keeps me dry. I wear knee pads and impact shorts, so I need baggy pants and they fit me very well. I normally wear 33-34' waist size and I got myself a large and it fits perfectly. I hear next year gortex version of these pants are coming out... i can't wait for that!

Great design, good quality.

Pants are made of a good material, soft to touch yet durable and sturdy. The fit great, not very baggy, but allowing for unrestricted movement. There are many small details, that add to the positive experience - pockets have overlapping closures making them secure, "parking holders" are a neat feature, guarding the pants from the slush and mud(especially for "stout white" color), the vent is "cool" :)
My only complaint is that the velcro from waist adjustment is messing with the clothes you wear, pulling yarns and seams, literally ruining the thermal underwear. I had to sew small fabric pieces over bot sides wist adjustment velcro, to prevent that. That is why I can not give this product 5 stars.
Burton has to redesign the waist adjustment to resolve that.

i got the burton cargo pants size xxl in saffron Im 6 foot 1 and the length is great. These pants are amazing you for sure have to buy these. they look amazing. one thing i really like is the button on the waist of the pants is like the button on jeans and there are two of them so you know they are pretty strong. other snowboard pants ive had have like a hook type thing like on dress pants and that always seems to break. these pants have a nice strong fabric and it looks good two. theyre really warm and even if its super hot out side unzip the leg vents and you wont have to worry about over heating at all. all in all great pants and you guys should by them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello - I'm 5'10" 33" waist at 175lbs. What size should be good for me without being overly baggy. I like to fit a little loose with room for layering and protective pads. Thanks.

Responded on

For a slightly loose fit and room for pads, I'd say a large will be best for you.

Responded on

Depending on your waist size ( see chart above) I would say Large. They are a regular fit, so not to baggy just right.

Love these pants. Material feels sturdier and looks better than most. Super comfy. Nice and warm for most days with nothing but boxers underneath. Great style not to bulky/tight. I did need to get a size smaller Med are HUGE on me and I'm 5'9" 155 pounds. Even smalls had a good amount of extra room but I like them like that. Definitely would suggest this pant.

I'm 6'1" usually wear a 34" inseam on my jeans cuz I like em with a little bag, would these work or should I get the tall?

Best Answer Responded on

At 6'1, the Cargo regular will be long enough in size large. You won't have the highwater look. If you go with the Cargo Tall, there will be a bunch of extra material that will drag on the ground. But hey, if that's your look then go with the Talls.

do these pants have a decent thickness to them? I would like to not layer as much as i can!

Responded on

Hey Brian, the material on these pants is regular thickness. That said, you might want to consider insulated snowpants. I almost always ride insulated snowpants unless the weather is really mild (30+ degrees F).

I typed "insulated pants" into our search bar and got 20 men's snowpants, including the Poacher Insulated pant which is this exact pant with insulation. Put this URL in your browser to see the results:

Couldn't ask for more

Haven't had a chance to use them yet so I can't say anything on waterproofness but the fit is awesome, nice and baggy. The pockets (besides thigh pockets which have zippers) close with velcro but the pocket actually folds over some so it seams like it would be pretty waterproof. Vent is big, waistband adjusts great. Love em'

Treid and True Classic

This is quite possibly the bestselling snowboard pant of all time. And for good reason. Loose-fitting for layering, with plenty of pockets so you never need the lodge, the men's Burton Cargo Pant is a tried-and-true classic, ready for any weather disaster. Like all Burton pants, it?s stacked with standard features, including venting options for hiking, newly reinforced cuffs with Leg Lifts?, articulated knees, and an audio port in the pocket so you can still listen to music when wearing just a hoodie.
