Pow-seeking predator for the deep white.

Much like the tenacious predator it's named after, the Burton Barracuda Snowboard is always on the hunt, seeking every last pow stash on the mountain, devouring tight tree runs with precision, and even carving groomers much better than its tapered, pow-specific shape would suggest. This directional board features an astounding two-inch set-back for effortless pow performance, further enhanced by 15-millimeters of taper to ensure near-unsinkable float atop the deepest powder. Plus, the Barracuda uses Burton's Raduction tech, allowing you to downsize 2-3 centimeters from what you'd normally ride in deep, untracked conditions.

Maximizing the board's ability to plane through the deep stuff, Burton engineered the Barracuda with its Directional Flying V. This hybrid camber/rocker profile places camber under your rear leg for powerful turning and stylish slashes all over the mountain. Combined with a healthy dose of rocker at the nose, this Directional Flying V profile practically eliminates rear leg burn, as the board's rockered nose pops up when you weigh the back/cambered end down. Ultimately, this pow-specific profile takes less energy to ride on really deep days, meaning you can lap your favorite stash without getting tired.

Inside this pow-seeking predator, you'll find Burton's Super Fly II core with Dualzone EGD and Squeezebox for a better board feel under the binding zones and increased energy response over the tip and tail contacts. Its Carbon I-Beam increases pop and drive when you're charging down serious terrain, while the triax fiberglass lay-up adds a stiffer torsional feel for added power. Additionally, you'll find the board grips well on hardpack and groomers with its Frostbite edges that extend a few millimeters over the binding zones for extra grip. Add in Burton's lightning-fast Sintered WFO base for a board that won't bog down, no matter how deep or thick the snow.
