Burton Baker Mitten - Men

By:

Received these black mittens proto without fuss. Did a ride in cool temps. Amazing! My hands were warm as toast. By keeping your fingers together instead of in separate compartments like gloves the thermal loss is MUCH lower. I always suffer from cold hands on a ride. These mittens fixed that! The wide cuff is also a great advantage to keep the wind out of your sleeves. When temps get too low on go my Gerbing electrics.

Would I recommend these gloves from backcountry? You can bet your life on it!

Baker's Bake on the Mountain

By:
January 8, 2009

Alright... these have to be the best bang for the buck on the market right now. Just got back from Jackson Hole over New Year's. Temps ranged from -20 to 34 degrees over the last few days, and my paws were comfy the whole time. I usually run a number on gloves, and always find something to hate about them. Between strapping into and out of bindings, stopping for smoke breaks mid mountain, and faceplanting runs beyond my skill level, my hands are ALWAYS cold. Not anymore, though. These mittens are the end to my blue finger blues. The palms are grippy, the fabric breathes well, and wetness is a non issue. We had a dump of sleet and rain in the first half of our second day there, and I stayed dry through the whole day. The only time I got wet in these was when I (at the urging of my wife) decided to add a handwarmer on the coldest day (thermometer read -5 at the gondola at 2:00 PM)and my hands were sweating profusely. I mean sweat like your ass crack gets on a hot leather seat in your car in Mobile, AL in mid July after building a house in the open sun. In other words, far too much sweat for ANY fabric to clear rapidly enough to prevent buildup. Once I ditched the handwarmers to my jacket pocket the gloves cleared the moisture quickly, and it was smooth sailing for the rest of the day. Do yourself a favor, save 30 bucks and order these instead of something more expensive and less effective.

Are these mittens gray on black or brown on black? In some online

Are these mittens gray on black or brown on black? In some online pics, the marking on the back of the mitten appears brown. On the pair I bought at my local ski center (last pair), the marking is gray. What is the real color?

Great Mitts

By:
December 8, 2008

I was very impressed with these Mitts. I was some what scared away because I have heard negative reviews on these, but they outdid my expectations 10 times over. With me being a typical glove kind of guy, these changed the whole game completely. The nose wipe is also a great little add on. Unfortunately I had these stolen today, but I plan on ordering these again ASAP, I just have to be a little more careful

great mittens and value

By:

I used these mittens for snowmobiling here in Wisconsin. They worked great. Kept my hands warm even in -30 winchills on the sled. I put the remote for my Ipod in the zippered pocket on top, easy access and worked great. Never got wet or cold. Great Burton product for a good price. Definately would recommend, and good fast service from Backcountry is always great.

Good,,,

This glove has a good feel to them. They arn't to bulky and they have a great deal of warmth to them. The sinthetic leather palms work well and have decent grip to them. For the price they do a good job keeping the elements off your hands.

these mitts work so well, usually i gotta take a break to warm up my numb fingers, but not with these babies on. they ware way waterproof, the hand warmer pocket works superbly, i'm pretty sure they'll last a couple seasons, and by then maybe they'll have suits that keep you warm while you shred whatever you want!
