BEST GLOVES EVER!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I LOVE THESE GLOVES, THEY ARE THE BEST GLOVES I HAVE EVER OWNED!!! They are thin, warm, comfortable, have great dexterity, and they are GORE-TEX! The leather fits well (and comes with nikwax), and it conforms to my hands so its nice and warm. The Gore-Tex X-Trafit allows for sticky grip when grabbing and great breathability when it gets warm. They are thin as well and surprisingly warm, with the Primaloft. I have owned countless gloves, but these are hands down the best I have ever owned!

Perfect.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I have used these gloves for 20+ days, still feels like new.

It does what Burton said it would do, it wicks away moisture(if you have sweaty palms like I do), keeps those digits warm from the icy wind temps, and the Gore-Tex material keeps it rugged and strong.

These gloves also keep your fingers very dexterous. I was able to go in and out of my backpack when out snowboarding, strap into my board and operate a little gopro camera.

GET IT. You wont be disappointed, I sure wasn't.

Return of the Mack

Just got em in the mail, and they are beefier than ever! I will ride in nothing less than the AK Guide. This is my fourth pair of AK Guides (lost my pair from last year or I would have kept riding them). I tend to run cold, so I appreciate the Primaloft insulation coupled with 3L Goretex and Leather for wind protection and heat retention.
Updates for this year include full back-of-the-hand leather, and an extra layer of leather on the trigger-finger area for protection from your edges.
One thing to note, sizing has gotten bigger. My previous pairs were XLs, which turned out to be too big this year. Larges now fit like XL.
Haven't used this pair yet, but if I come across any glaring defects I'll update my review.

THE BEST period.

Just purchased these as an encore to my previous AK Guides. They lasted 3 seasons of abuse which is incredibly long for my gloves. The AK Guide features my three necessities in gloves: Goretex, leather and insulation.
The Guides keep your hands bone-dry, and the poly material on the back of the hands allow your hands to breathe unlike all-leather gloves.
I strongly suggest applying the supplied Nikwax to all the leather. Though the Goretex membrane will block water from getting to your hands, if the leather is left untreated it will soak up water, get heavy, and suck warmth out of your hands.
Sizing is standard Burton. I had to get the XLs as I do in every Burton glove.

BEST Gloves out there

Got these gloves for my hubby after my brother used them last year. These are by far the most durable gloves around. The leathers grip is awesome and keeps those digits toasty warm! I highly recommend these for backcountry temps

Lead the pack !

Primoloft's lightweight core structure suspends millions of air particles in a microfiber mesh. these air particles repel water by trapping in heat. Basically its the mother load of warmth and light as a feather.

Great glove!!! First class , As good as it gets except they are not as warm as you think they might be , so be sure to wear some merino wool undergloves on the colder days.

Nice Gloves

Ok so just got these in the mail. Have not ridden with them yet. AS far as fit goes...They do run small. I am a Medium in gloves and got a large and they fit perfect. Super comfy and feel like they are going to be warm. I will post an update after i ride with them but so far I am very pleased with the fit and feel.

Quality glove - worth the price

The burton Guide gloves are everything you'd expect out of a top of the line snowboard glove. The insulation keeps the temperature regulated well, while wicking moisture. The Leather is soft and seems very durable and will probably last a few years of abuse. The gloves come with leather waterproofing for the leather, don't forget to put it on, also buy some from backcountry.com while you're at it. It's less than $10 and will last years.
Just like normal Burton gloves, the fit is small. I normally wear a size Large glove and I fit into the Burton XL's perfectly. If in doubt, go a size up with these.

My hands were a little on the cold side when the temp dipped to -15c. These aren't warm and toasty, but they'll do the job for most conditions.
The gloves fit well under the cuff and are a breeze to take on and off through the day. I ski with 2 kids, so I'm always taking my gloves off to help them.

Hate cold wet hands? Buy this glove!

If high quality backcountry performance is what you are looking for in a glove than look no further. These gloves are warm and very well constructed. This year they extended the neoprene cuff which is great. Nothing worse than getting snow in your gloves. These were a huge upgrade to the Burton Baker gloves I owned last season which in my opinion were the most useless gloves ever created. I was sad to learn that this will be the last year that FYI Design would be creating the [ak] line for Burton. Hopefully the quality doesn't fall from its current high standard. BTW these gloves have a MSRP of $99 bucks not $114 like listed here. If you want to purchase these, I would suggest emailing the folks at Backcountry and have them correct the issue. If you hate cold, wet hands buy, buy these gloves.
