    Extra coverage for chest-deep days.

The Burton Men's AK 3L Freebird Gore-Tex Bib Pant offers ultimate protection from the deepest powder on the planet with its bib-style design and legendary Gore-Tex 3-layer membrane. The Freebird is fully sealed with Gore-Seam tape to prevent moisture from sneaking through the pant's seams when you're riding in chest-deep snow.

The Freebird is incredibly lightweight for maximum comfort and efficiency when you're earning your turns in the backcountry and riding demanding lines. Gore-Tex stretch panels along the upper chest and back promote freedom of movement needed for skinning, hiking beyond the resort, and sledding into hard-to-reach zones. The pant's AK fit uses engineered articulation to naturally move with your body, also allowing enough room underneath to fine-tune your level of insulation.

Keeping you from soaking in perspiration, the pant's 70D Gore Micro Grid backer actively pulls moisture off your skin to better regulate your body temperature. Zippered inseam and outside vents channel cool outside air over your lower body and legs when you're slogging uphill or riding under the warm spring sun. Another well-designed feature is the large chest pocket that's accessible through any AK Jacket's underarm vents. This gives you grab-and-go convenience without slowing you down on fast-paced missions.

Great pant, give us some mesh lined vent

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

I really wanted to like this pant bib as I'm sick of getting snow down my ass. However, I think they'd just be a little too hot on a hike and they had minimal venting, which wasn't even mesh lined.

These would be warm I suspect since GoreTex never seems to breathe as much as Gore thinks it does. Some mesh lined vents at the sides AND the crotch would be good.

Also wish is had large cargo pockets you can put gear in, in addition to the hand and vest pockets. Need more places to throw a camera, tool, energy bar or whatever. Seemed a little slim on those features. Some felt for the butt and knees wouldn't been nice.

Also, while I'm putting a wish list togther, something to hold them up when the suspenders are down. Even a little elastic drawcord to give the pants a reason to stay up.

All that said, it's a really nicely constructed bib.

    Best SNOWBOARD bibs made!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

These bibs are great! I'm on my 3rd set now over the last 6 seasons. If your a snowboarder who want to stick with a snowboard brand and want the best technical outwear you can get AK is gonna be your jam. These are well constructed, features are thoughtfully placed, and the bibs take a beating. There are some other snowboard bibs made, but none offer this level of breathabilty. All GORE-TEX is not the same. It really depends on what fabric the membrane is applied to and what kind of liner ( if any ) is in the garment. I tried some Volcom GORE-TEX bibs and they did not breath anywhere close to these Burton bibs.

The bibs are roomy, with ample room to layer and not some stupid skinny cut that would hinder you if you're splitboarding. I split 40+ days a year with 10-15 resort days thrown in there as well and these things hold up. I have never had any quality issues with any pair I've had.

    Get some, you'll like them!
