You gotta love the pockets on this jacket. Combine the easy access to whatever you put in there with the Gore-Tex shell and the zipper system and life is good. Stay dry, stay happy, and enjoy the facemask on powder days. Pick one up!

awesome awesome awesome!

Don't even know where to start. I usually wear an xl or l in jackets its a toss up. This should be sized keeping layers in mind. It's not insulated so it doesn't keep you warm by itself on cold days. Having the zipper up the passenger side armpit takes some getting used to. This jacket was meant for layers. I am 6'0" and about 170-175 lbs and I wear a Columbia galaxie hoodie for warmth and this goretex for protection. The galaxie hoodie is awesome too. The zipper matches the direction of the zipper on the jacket and its super warm alternative to 100+$$ Burton fleece. This thing wears huge without the layers. Sorry I'm all over the place but the jist of the story is that this thing rocks. I got the olive and get comps all the time as well. Since its an 08 style they are going away soon.

I have a pair of 09/10 ak pants in medium, would the zip in system work with a large ak jacket?

Responded on

Yes the zip in feature will work perfectly. That would be a sick kit for sure.

It says that it is not insulated, do i need to wear more under garments other than a thermo vest and ski shirt.

Responded on

For layering, maybe go with heavier layers like a good midweight or down sweater and always a decent baselayer f that's what the weather calls for.

Responded on

It all depends on when and where you are riding. For spring and mild conditions, you don't need to layer with anything. For colder temps get a good mid-level base layer and you will perfect.

is it warm? whats the lowest deg you would want to ride with?

Responded on

This is built for the gnarliest and coldest temperatures, but it is not insulated. So, you need a layering piece to go under it. A bonded fleece, or some other fleece will do the job. With the combo package you will stay warm for days... Ohh, and dry as hell. Don't worry about rain or wind breaking through this thing!
