With Gore-Tex Performance Shell material, the Burton Men's AK 2L Stagger Pant will have your back… er, ass covered. These shell pants feature fleece at the seat and knees, RiRi AQUAzip water-resistant zippers, Link Zip jacket-to-pant interface, and Gore Seam Tape to guarantee you’re dry and warm—so if you wake up in a snow bank with a plastic-party cup in your hand at least you’ll know your lower limbs won’t be popsicles. When you stagger to the mountain the next day, Crossflow Venting will take care of cold sweats as you hike to those fresh stashes. After all, nothing cures a hangover like fresh powder.
I have a pair of last years model Stagger pants, I absolutely love them as with all of Burtons AK gear they are top notch, comfortable, light, and gore-tex. Keeps you warm all day up and down the mountain, I am always one of the only people in my group completely warm and dry on our epic boadpacking trips. I will have another pair of these when I wear through the ones I have. Keep it coming Burton.
Found a pair of 2009 Staggers' on vacation recently. My non-goretex pants had let me down bigtime, these things were just $150, so it seemed like a good deal. I kept on wearing them for the remainder of the trip, they rocked. Sure, the Neon Camo colourway is not the best(it's growing on me) but how can you complain at goretex snow-pants for $150 ??? The XL fits me well(6ft tall, 36 inch waist, 32inch inside leg). They are on the baggy side but that suits me and is how they are intended. The pockets could be bigger and maybe they are not as sturdy as some pants(they had a tiny tear in them after sitting on a rock, repaired with duct tape), but overall these are a super-bargain.
Sooo these are now my go-to boarding pants. 2L Goretex keeps the water out. My jacket attaches to the pants so snow stays out. Inseam vents work with longer vents on the outside/back of the leg to give you a nice cross-breeze. I wrecked fairly hard on a stair feature that left a mark on the knee, but no sign of puncture or tear. I got the AK Houndstooth/Resin and it got all good reviews from my pplz. Great pants.

I bought my pants and the AK jacket right before a big snowboard trip to Crested Butte. It worked out perfectly! I stayed completely dry the entire trip and the got a bunch of compliments on the design (went with the Houndstooth/Resin). I strongly reccomend spending the extra money to get the GORE-TEX that comes on the AK gear. The sizing on the jacket seemed about perfect, the pants however seemed a little small, I would recommend going one size bigger than the size chart shows.
The Burton AK Stagger pants received 5 stars from me because of their great performance, fit, and style. I am a snowboarder who loves to just be on the mountain whether its raining or enjoying fresh pow. I am 6 foot 165lb. wearing a medium which sat a few inches below the naval and barely rested on the ground, bunched on the boots a tad. The pants performance was impressive. The gore tex performance shell acted as it should and kept out all moisture. It is a thinner fabric compared to some of the other gore tex shells burton uses(ie. jakard), yet it is still durable. I just used these pants on a very icy day in which i was constantly breaking through a top layer of ice and on my knees more than normal. No sign of wear. The fleece seat and knees sounds like a small detail but it is noticeable compared to pants without. Furthermore all of the zippers have been strategically placed so as not to get in the way. The craftsmanship seems to be top notch and I do expect that from AK stuff. All seams seem to be well taped and all zippers work well. The fit of the pants made me want to wear them all day from sun up to sun down on a day of boarding. They are lightweight enough to not be over bearing and baggy enough to wear a base layer comfortably. These are not however extremely baggy. The crotch is high and not saggy while the pants are slightly boot cut to fit over boots. Zippers as well as a button with strap are nice features to manage the bottom of the pants and keep them off the ground when your not on the slope. The style is great, I bought the agave color which isn't an option here but is a great bright color for the mountain. Not too flashy but your party can still find you shredding down the slopes. would recommend to a friend.
