Zip up the Burton 3L Hybrid Jacket and turn your riding up full throttle. Burton’s Dryride Durashell three-layer construction helps keep you warm and dry, so you can shred the nasty while everyone else blows on soup in the lodge. The 3L Hybrid’s new Engineered Lining System welds insulating panels to the backside of the three-layer fabric in heat-critical zones to retain more heat and increase breathability. Burton taped the seams of the Sig-fit (slightly baggy and long) 3L Hybrid Jacket, and gave it handwarmer pockets with waterproof zippers, a no-chafe chin collar, a goggle pocket, and more features than we can put on one page. - Fall 2008.

I am moving to Colorado next year and am looking for a nice warm snowboarding jacket. How warm is this thing?

Responded on

This jacket has light insulation, and I would say it's good for any temps above 10 degrees F. Colorado has pretty mild weather so this jacket will be warm enough for almost any Colorado conditions. If it's really cold you may have to wear a fleece underneath. Because it has light insulation, you won't roast on warmer days.

I'm 5'5" 130 lbs and am looking for a snowboard jacket that will fit me nicely. Everything seems to run big. Would a size small in this jacket fit a small framed dude like me? thanks

Responded on

I'm your same height and small fits me with room to be slightly baggy.

Sick Jacket

This is by far the best jacket I've ever owned. The patches of fur are awesome and work surprisingly well and if you get to hot just open up the vents. I would recomend this jacket to everyone, especially if you have wet snow or windy conditions becuase nothing penetrates it. The only problem i had was that it runs a bit too baggy, but found it looks even better that way.

Just got it, tried it on, and I could not be happier. I am 5'8'', 150lbs. It fits a bit baggy, but in the good way. I love the jacket! The color is more like an olive green, which is AWESOME. I cannot wait to hit up the mountains! I uploaded pics of the extra insulation, which is a nice touch. It is a thin jacket, so be sure to wear an extra layer under. It will work great as a rain jacket too with how waterproof it is, especially here in the Northfresh!

Waterproof? I think yes.

SUPER waterproof right out of the package, lets see how it does on the slopes!

Awesome patches of "fur" for extra heat where you need it.

just got it. love it.

haven't been able to test it out in the wild yet, but so far i love it. i've owned enough burton gear to know the quality in their products. and i have no doubt it will be bomb proof for the descents. i just hope it will be breathable enough for the way up. in situations where it is not, it's definitely small enough to fit in my pack. i'm 6'1" 170 lbs. and the small fits perfect, which is a little unusual — generally i wear a medium. but after having tried on the latest burton garb, i noticed that their stuff is running a little big these days, so i went with the small. i also have long arms, so im glad there's enough length there too.the hazel isn't quite as dark as the photo above, which was also a nice surprise.

i'm docking a star for lack of wrist gaiters — even with the velcro closed tightly around my gloves (which btw isn't quite as stylish) i had to hike the sleeves down multiple times to keep out the powder. i'm going to have to sew in my own wrist gaiters.

hey all, I'm tall and pretty skinny (6'3"...

hey all, I'm tall and pretty skinny (6'3" 175) and haven't ever tried the "SIG fit." I'm thinkin large...?

Responded on

Go with XL just because you height, i am 6'5" and XL hangs nicely not too long. It may be a bit baggy though, depends on how you like your jackets to fit.

Good shell

Haven't worn on the mountain yet since I just bought it and it is still summer. Did wear it in a hard rain and it kept me nice and dry. Has good warmth for a shell, but is a shell nonetheless. I imagine you would need to layer on cold days. Hazel def looks more green than brown, which I prefer. Works great to zip into 3L cirque pants. Ready to test in the winter, snow needs to get here soon!

Great jacket, lightweight, great waterproof, you can layer under it for cold days and shed down on spring sunny the end very versitle

How heavy is this jacket? Is it pretty bulky and weighty or is it fairly lightweight?

Responded on

no this isnt very lightweight, DRYRIDE durashell is extremeley heavy and bulky in my point of view, especially 3L, and then theres fleece panels that will just increase weight...that being said the weight/bulk wont hinder your motion or weight you down really, in fact it aids in breathability, waterproofing, durablility and warmth...but if you are trying to shave ounces from your pack load then look elsewhere

I disagree

I found this jacket performs fantastic, the core insulation is great, on warm days a light base layer is all that is needed and not much more on the cold ones. I have a smith variant brim helmet and although I do have to slightly unzip the collar to get the hood over the helmet It fits just fine with still full range of motion. I both ski and snowboard and have been extremely happy with how the jacket repelled water while strapping in and during a fairly uncharacteristic wet snowfall here in CO. It has great pockets and function, I am not a fan at all of tall tees and excessively baggy clothing and I have to disagree with the previous review, I'm 5'11" and about 175 lbs and my usual burton medium fits perfect. Paired with a pair of AK stagger pants with the zip in compatibility I really am pleased with this purchase and now for this price you can't go wrong! I highly recommend this jacket, the only thing I would say is that the brilliant blue is more like a light sea blue but still got several compliments and people wanting to know what jacket it was. Another very pleased customer!!!
