While the shells holds of the moisture, inseam vents help you stay cool during warmer rides. In deep-powder, the jacket-to-pants interface lets you attach the 2L Gore-Tex Vent Pant to compatible Burton jackets, sealing off your waist and keeping the snow out. They definitely live up to their claim. Waterproof and windproof. Kept me completely dry and never felt the wind at all. I didn't get that wet a** feeling from the lift chairs or the cold thighs from the wind. Stayed warm and dry through a very long day. I was also very happy that they zipped together with my AK Rotor jacket to keep out the snow and cold drafts on my back.
If you only ever buy one pair of pants, this should be it.
