Great for everything

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 190 lbs
    Size Purchased: One size

This half buff kept me warm enough on the very cold days and was still thin enough for a warm mountain day. Definitely helped keep the sun of my neck and face. Feels great.

Covering you from the wind, snow and sun

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 1"
    Weight: 185 lbs

The original Buff is great for all seasons - a nice, lightweight
covering for skiing when you need to keep the chill off your face as well as an awesome piece of gear for summer hiking to keep the sun off your neck, cool you down when soaked in water or as an impromptu headband for those super sweaty days. A must have.

Unfinished edges

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I prefer the Half Buff, but I gave this as a gift and it is well loved on the mountain skiing or back packing. Very versatile and light weight. Worth the ounces on any trip.

"Brocade Pink" colors not as pictured

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I just received my order of several Buffs from Backcountry which has a great online collection of types and patterns. However, stay away from the "Brocade Pink" design if you are looking for vibrant colors like those shown in the photo online. The one I received is very washed-out looking and the colors are very faded, as though it had been run through the washer with bleach. Sadly, I have to return it. I am giving the Brocade Pink Buff a 3 star rating, because it is "adequate for the job," but I give it no stars for looks. Back it goes!

Buffs Rule!

I own 4 so far. As ssen in the picture, I lent my boyfriend one of mine while out climbing on a chilly morning. Not cool enough for a full on hat, Buffs are the perfect companion. UV ones and original ones. I just love how handy and versatile they are. I will have mine around my neck one minute and up onto my head the next. I sleep with one when I'm sleeping outside, as it stays put on your head keeping cool drafts off. Up on your face, around your head, neck, folded or completely open for full coverage. Patterns are fun too :)

Simple and Smart

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Recently got this as a Christmas present, and promptly put it through its paces. I love the length, and having the option to either wear it folded as a face mask or long to protect my ears and neck.
I have found I prefer wearing it up on my head, with the option to pull it up over my chin and nose when I need it. The thin fabric blocks wind quite well, but is not a great thermal insulator. This is to be expected, and can be fixed by using a wool or Polartech Buff. I love the thin nature of it, as I can pull the material in under my goggles, providing full coverage of neck, ears, nose, cheeks, etc.

While it certainly does get moist and frosty, like any neck warmer will, it dries remarkably fast. Put it on top of a heater or base board for five to ten minutes, and it will be damn near dry. Makes wearing it all the more enjoyable.
Bottom line- saved my face from windchill temps in the -40s, in style at that.

Collect them all!

This is made from a comfortable lightweight stretchy fabric magically formed into a long seamless tube. I have this in the Elevations print. Bought it last year for winter trail running so I didn't have to breathe in cold dry air. Planned to use it for spring skiing as well, but all my skiing ended up being legitimately cold and windy this past season. Maybe next year.

I've used it as a bike helmet liner as well, as my hair always gets caught on the extra velcro spots in my helmet and wisps of hair fall down and bug me.

I've only used it a few ways but there are so many more uses. I found their video modeling the ways to wear it very helpful. It taught me how to make the buff into a balaclava...even if I haven't worn it out of the house that way yet :) I wish I remembered to bring it with me on a recent trip to wear as a helmet liner and to keep the sun off my neck. They come in so many different fun prints, thinking about picking up a second.

I got this in the Inca Flair, and love the coloring. I've used it as a headband, neckband, face cover, sun protection- all sorts of things! Packed it for a day outting, hike, backpacking, beach-ing- works great for everything. Absolutely love it, would definitely recommend!

Dot Fade is a little darker Blue

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Dot Fade is a little darker Blue than the image shows. I was a little disappointed about that since I was looking for a lighter blue, but it's still a pretty sweet color! I'll keep it and love it!

I only gave it 4 stars because it is slightly darker blue that I expected/wanted. That is Buff's fault though. If it was a lighter blue then I would give it 5 stars.
