The Brunton Solar Controller Battery Charge Monitor prevents your 10-watt or larger solar panels from overcharging your 12-volt battery. Even the best solar panel in the world loses its luster when it overcharges your car battery into a steaming pool of acid and battery scuzz on the driveway. If your model of Brunton's solar panel doesn't have built-in overcharge protection, or you just want the peace of mind a battery charge monitor offers, then you'll appreciate the Solar Controller. This unit can handle up to 100 watts of electricity.

Bottom Line: You'll be able to solar charge your 12-volt battery worry-free for weeks or months at a time.

Hi Holly, yeah you would want to get a solar rechargeable battery pack... From Backcountry I would recommend the Brunton Freedom BRU0222... this way you can give it a full charge before you leave and then charge it via the sun, etc when out in the field... Enjoy!

The box of my solarflat 15 watt says I can connect up to three

The box of my solarflat 15 watt says I can connect up to three panels. The directions tell me I can have up to 105 watts interconnected. Which is correct? I want five panels totalling 75 watts.

Late addition; but I would agree with Justin. Should work regardless as long as you keep it under 105 Watts/ 7 Amps.

I don't have that specific Solar Controller but my guess is the 105 watt limit is the more important limit. You can always custom hookups regardless of what cables are included. I assume the 3 panel connectivity limit is more based on hardware hook ups, rather than what the circuitry can sustain.
(there's a review on Amazon that says it's been used up to 80 watts without a problem).

You cannot charge a 6 volt battery with a twelve volt charger. You have destroyed your battery and need to buy a new one. Then carefully follow recharging directions.

I have solar panels on the roof of my RV to charge my auxiliary

I have solar panels on the roof of my RV to charge my auxiliary battery that powers coach systems when electricity is not availalble. The solar panels are connected in series and generate through one integrated cable about 20 Watts of power. The solar panels have 2 types of electrical connectors: (1) alligator clips for the battery and (2) cigarette lighter inserts. Can I connect the solar panels through one of these connectors? Tx, Vern

It looks very standard in its construction, I honestly doubt that it's only for Brunton solar panels.
