Use the Brunton Quad Tool on your topo maps to determine distances with precision. The Quad is the one tool that most backcountry enthusiasts don't have that makes navigating much more accurate than eyeballing or using your fingers to measure. This USGS quadrangle measurer works with 7 ˝-minute maps, features latitude and longitude in degrees, minutes, and seconds, and provides distance in feet and miles. Use the tool's Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) measurements to pinpoint GPS coordinates on your map. The Quad Tool also has a slope indicator with avalanche zone marks to help you determine avalanche danger. A waterproof map case comes included.
