Great Sock.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium.

I have had this style and similar Bridgedale socks for years and they honestly hold up well. I have yet to throw any away from holes, fading, or failure at this time. Overall I have loved the brand and I love this particular style. Would highly recommend as a good hiking or even everyday sock if you are looking for something more midweight. The specs say "mid-calf" and I woudl disagree. this sock comes to the center of your ankle bone or roughly 3 to 3 1/2 inches from the ground. The photo shown is what will arrive, not a mid calf sock.

*** 9.0 foot in women's and i purchase a Medium in this brand.

Another great Bridgedale

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

As I mentioned in a previous review, I really like all the Bridgedale socks I've tried, so this is a biased review! I've used these for day touring, no heavy hiking, but they work great for days where the temps vary from mild to cool. Breathe well but kept my feet warm. No irritation from seams or wear spots. I wear a size 5.5 in women's shoes, the size small in this sock fits perfectly. That's really a top reason I like this brand of socks so much, they make smaller sizes! Wash cold & hang to dry. Should last for awhile with good care. I am glad they're on sale, definitely buying more.

Great Pair for Day Hikes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I grabbed a pair of these to get my order to $50 for free shipping, and I'm glad I did. I got the purple pair and they look cute for hiking socks and don't show dirt as easily as the white pair. I found they stretch out a bit at the end of the day, but you should change your socks daily to keep from getting blisters anyways. I like the fit, a little roomy in the toes and tight around the arch. Great for people who have ankle high hiking shoes.

They wash well with a regular load of laundry, haven't noticed any piling. I let them air dry every other wash so that they don't shrink, but keep tight.

They work great at wicking sweat and keeping my feet cool. Also noticed that they do a pretty good job of keeping dirt and sand out.
