Description

Northwest-proven performance.

Named after the year-round mecca of shred, the Bonfire Mt. Hood Jacket brings year-round functionality along with 20K-rated waterproofing fit for the heavy and wet Northwestern snow. Developed with assistance from Bode Merrill, the Mt. Hood Jacket features an extended length (Bode is 6'2) and a sophisticated style to match (Bode needed extra help with that).

  • DryLevel 3 outperforms with storm with 20K-rated waterproof performance and 15K breathability
  • 3-layer Shadow Weave fabrication creates a subtle heathered effect by utilizing three yarn colors; durable twill resists scuffing and ripping
  • PFOA-free DWR coating helps defend against moisture while going the extra mile to reduce environmental impact
  • Fully taped seams seal out moisture along all stitching throughout the jacket
  • Long fit provides extended coverage to cover your seat and never lift up past your waist no matter high you raise the roof or no matter how tall you are
  • Two-way front zipper can zip from the bottom up for easier access to your pant pockets and backpack's waist belt
  • Underarm zips help you release some heat without stripping down
  • Fused-brim hood shields your face from moisture run-off
  • Articulated elbows provide easy movement with no bunching from extra fabric
  • Extended cuff design provides additional coverage over gloves
  • Sleeve pass pocket keeps your lift credentials quickly accessible
  • Other features include removable goggle bag, lift-ticket loop, thumb loops at cuffs, and key loop inside hand pocket

Keep in mind that this jacket has a long cut to it. I suggest a large because it will be long and a little baggy. XL will be very long and baggy, so I suggest a large.

Tech specs don't mention anything about amount of insulation - how warm is this jacket compared to the Sessions Truth jacket?

Responded on

The Bonfire Mt. Hood is a highly waterproof (20k waterproof rating) shell jacket - that's why there is no mention of insulation.
The 2012/2013 Sessions Truth jacket (http://www.dogfunk.com/sessions-truth-insulated-jacket-mens) has a moderately waterproof 10k rating and a medium amount of insulation at 80 grams.
So the Mt. Hood will be more waterproof and the Sessions Truth will be warmer.
