Very Disappointed! Won't be buying any more Blundstones!!!

By:
January 14, 2012

I bought these Blundstone boots because I was so satisfied with my first pair. The quality has TANKED!!! My first pair had nice leather interior linings and fit like a glove. These have no lining and the soles appear to be made of an inferior material as well. The fit is sloppy and they feel like $50 shoes.
So long Blundstone..........it was nice while you lasted....now you won't.

Blundstone 500

By:
March 1, 2010

Was totally psyched about my new purchase, until my Australian mate informed me that Blundstone's are now made in Thailand, just as the tag on the inside of the boot says. Naturally being Australian, his opinion, all Australians and now mine are as follows: These boots suck!
Just spent two weeks literally walking all day, every day around Europe and they're already falling apart, the leather is cheap and wears like fake leather, the seam where the "leather" meets the sole is coming apart...basically if you want to waste your hard earned money, I totally suggest buying these sh!**y boots!
Apparently, the new Australian blundstone is made by rossi boots.

Interesting, I currently own 5 pairs of Blundstone's- yes I know a bit weird, but I am addicted to them. I have one pair that are steel toed, that I have had almost 15 years that I am reluctantly moving our of the rotation. The other four pairs are in great shape, and I haven't had any problems with. I did however have one pair of 500's about 8 years ago that the inner toe cap pulled away from the leather, and it would press against my toes. I called Blundstone and they gave me a RMA# and I sent them back, they replaced with now questions.

No. You could look at the Blundstone 163 or 172, which have a steel toe (163 also has a steel midsole). Both also come in wide widths.

Great boot

This is my second pair. Needed some in black. I highly recommend. Once broken in these boots are amazingly comfortable and very durable.

I have a GREAT pair of old Blundstone 500 - they are a suede that is NOT rough-out... but a fine extremely short nap suede.

The only style I can find now is called CRAZY HORSE #561.

The stitched arch above the heel is double row. My originals have one row of heavy single stitching.

Anybody know where I can duplicate my originals?

The 500's now available are only polished leather finish/

Fall Short of Expectations

By:
January 8, 2010

These boots seem to cross many facets. They are OK for shorter walks and kicking back by the campfire. Sizing is Australian so I highly recommend trying a pair on prior to any online commitment. They are a 'snug' fit though as they break in do loosen up. One thing I do note (which another reviewer mentioned) is the leather does seem 'cheap'.They are surprisingly warm - I walked to work in -20C with standard wool socks on and my feet were toasty.. I note that the quality of these boots has dropped from my first pair years ago - they would have been 5 Stars - these almost seem like 'knock-offs'

My Blundstones fell apart

By:
January 4, 2011

Beware: Blundstones are disposable - My Blunstone's soles fell apart and they can't be resoled. They just crumbled into dust. I wore them in an office environment (no chemicals or industrial environment) three or four times a week. I took them to a few cobblers to have them fixed assuming normal wear and tear but they all said they couldn’t be fixed

The response from Blundstone was that I didn't wear them enough (as I said I wore them 3 or 4 times a week). Something about the "PU" soles needing to be compressed on a regular basis. $150 is a lot to pay for something that needs that much attention and can't be repaired.

I just tossed $150 in the trash.

The sole on my Blundstone 500's fell apart also. I was wearing them and noticed black rubbery pieces all around me, As I was walking chunks of the sole fell off. I loved my Blundstones prior to this. Searching web to get # for distributor in US to request new pair. Guess you already did this with no results. Sorry to say I won't be spending another $150 for Blundstone boots. Have you found another comfortable boot? Thanks for your post.- VERY HELPFUL!

By:
January 24, 2011

was introduced to this boot 5 years ago took me a while to get around to it now I cannot take them off. They are great in snow slush and ice of the Northeast winter. Comfortable to have on for 18 hours a day. I have a narrow foot and wear a 11 USA chose a 9.5 AUS and it fits perfectly. A little tight in the beginning but it forms to your foot. My wife says they look sexy so that is an added bonus as well!

After wearing Blundstone boots for decades with nary an issue, after a couple of months with the last pair the sole on the right boot separated and peeled right off!

Sadly Blundstone is now crap.

Another hit

By:
January 14, 2010

Bought these and the Keen San Antonio boot for my husband, the idea was for him to CHOOSE a pair and send the others back. Well, he like them both and kept both. He selected to keep these because they could be dressy enough for presentations and functional enough to wear all day.

Great all around boots!

By:
February 13, 2010

I have had these boots for 5 months and they are the best all-around boots/shoes for me. I travel a lot for business but I like to hike as well. I can wear these boots with black dress pants and then wear them later that night with jeans and a sports jacket and then the following day I can wear them with cargo pants and hike for 6 miles, then shine them up and wear them again for business. That's a great pair of boots.

500's

By:
February 3, 2010

I loved these boots. While visiting friends in Melbourne I noticed that the whole family was wearing them and asked about their boots. I bought a pair in a local store and brought them home to Florida where I have horses. Easy on and off and are good for both the stable and puting up fence. I even ride in them some. Only downside is that the sole wore out long before the uppers. I would like to have them resoled but try finding a cobler and an equivilent sole.

Blundstone 500 Series blunder

By:
November 26, 2009

This is my 4th pair of 500 series Blundstones, but my first in black. I have always purchased these boots at a physical storefront. The boots have always had thick soft leather and a comfortable fit right out of the box. So I decided to save a few bucks and order online this time. I am mostly disappointed at the obviously cheaper leather that is being used on these boots. It is thinner and seems to have a pattern to the leather instead of the normal thick smooth grain. I am afraid that the uppers will not last. The sole seems to have not changed and is just as comfortable.

Comfy and Versatile

Super comfy and great looking for the office, outdoor work, around the house, out on the town, etc etc. It's my first pair and I'm sold. I know several people who seem to have four or five pairs of these and they all swear by them.

My 500's are giving out. Had them healed, now sole is gone. Have had them probalby 5 years, but a little disappointed that they are now made in Thailand! Not sure I'll buy another pair with the negative comments listing lighter weight upper leathers etc. Don't know if I have every run across another T. Chandler on line.
