Description

Intuitively designed for the multi-discipline outdoor athlete.

The Blue Water Pull Down Cord (Tag Line) is not your average accessory cord. Weighing in at just over 43 grams per meter, this multi-use cord features a tightly braided polyester sheath encasing a tough nylon core. Blue Water built the Pull Down to be slightly stiffer than typical accessory cord for better manageability.

Is this a good rope for canyoneering (wet)?
the description says "accesspry cord" + "stiffer"....?!?
thanks,

Hey Nader,

This is not a good rope for rappelling. This rope is used as a pull cord for single-stranded rappels. As a pull cord, the rope works great. But I have a tough time carrying a rope that I can't use to rappel. I recommend the Canyon Pro Dual Sheath if you need to rappel from it - http://www.backcountry.com/blue-water-canyon-pro-dual-sheath-rope-8mm

Feel free to email me with any other canyoneering questions! ccostley@backcountry.com

I wanted to find a good lightweight haulline for trad multipitch day routes with light packs. I haven't had any luck. Is this a good choice or is there something else out there I should look into?

Rckclmbr14,
This tag line is pretty stiff so it can be pulled easily after abseiling, but can make it a bit difficult to organize at a belay on multipitch routes. I've used this as a tag line for extra gear on big walls and find it ideal for that purpose as the lightweight static rope makes hauling light loads a breeze (I use the Black Diamond lightweight pulley).

Great little rope for Canyoneering

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought the 70m rope and cut it in half so I could have a 115ft 8mm rope for short rappels or other various rope work for Canyoneering, Caving, Mining, and Climbing. I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I now have the rope when I need it.
