Description

If you're looking for a women-specific one-ski quiver, you can stop.

If fresh snow and ski-lodge nachos sound far better than a fancy candlelit dinner, the Blizzard Women's Samba Ski might be your ideal choice. The combination of rocker in the tip and tail and camber underfoot provides a ski that is nimble and floaty in powder and mixed snow conditions, while still maintaining excellent grip and stability on groomers or hardpack. With 98mm underfoot, the Samba has plenty of width to float well in all but the deepest pow without becoming too clanky or cumbersome for those days of carving up the frontside.

This sassy, women-specific board features a lightweight poplar ISO woodcore to provide smooth and fluid turns while sustainable bamboo stringers keep things stable at high speeds. Revolutionary Flipcore technology means that the ski's core is actually placed upside-down in the mold, providing natural tip and tail rocker for easy-peasy float and turn initiation rather than being unnaturally pressed into that shape like most of the skis out there. For intermediate- to advanced-level female skiers exploring the entire mountain, the Samba is yours.

  • Tip and tail rocker
  • Camber underfoot
  • Flipcore technology
  • Sandwich compound sidewall construction
  • Poplar and bamboo ISO woodcore

Trenches and Speed and Stiffness, Oh My!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've skied my fair share of women's skis and these are by far and away the best I've been on. I am stoked that there is finally a ski out there designed for aggressive ladies, and these suckers simply shred. I ended up ordering them as an all-mountain ski and was completely thrilled with them by my 2nd run. While I've only had them out on groomer days so far (I blame a lack of snow in Utah) I can't wait to test them in crud/softer snow. That said, they are super fun to carve. Skis are damp, stiff, and pretty quick edge to edge for being 98MM under foot. These crave making longer GS-like turns and aren't as poppy as some other similar skis. But, the uber dampness+stiffness combo make for a ski that is incredibly fast and incredibly stable. If you're looking for a pretty aggressive all mountain ski that can also lay trenches, this is a great ski to consider.

Stats:
I'm 5'3" & have been skiing on the 166 CM Samba mounted w/ Rossi Axial bindings.
