EXtra Baggy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These bags get the job done, but not without some issues. First of all the bags themselves are super heavy. The material is substantial but I feel they are much heavier than they need to be. Attaching them to the rack is a huge chore. I usually just throw them over the rack and use a carabiner to attach them to the front of the rack so they don't slide off the back. This is the best way I have found to get them on and off quickly. To actually attach them takes threading the straps through the rack with the pannier on. I still haven't figured out how to hook the bottom of the panniers to the rack. Every time I go around a sharp corner one of the panniers flies out like a little wing. It is comical to watch, but not fun to ride with. They haul a heavy load well. I carried 30 pounds without a problem. I could fit enough stuff for an overnight camping trip. I would be worried if it rained though, the top flap doesn't look like it would seal out the rain very well. Maybe I was hoping for too much out of these. They hold stuff. If that's all your looking for and can get a good deal on them they are probably worth it. It doesn't change the fact that they are difficult to mount on the bike. For reference I used them with the Blackburn EX-1 Rear Rack
