The Black Diamond Viper Strike makes matching a breeze on your Viper Ice Tools. For those of you who have been using your Vipers leashless, you now have that top grip you have been waiting for. Used in conjunction with the Viper Fang, these add the upper grip that you have all been missing. They attach in seconds, allow easier matching, and do not interfere with the leash if you want to leave it on.
Bottom Line: The next evolution of the Viper.

I bet the strike could be retroed onto any tool really, it attaches via a hose clamp type device. What I used to do to add a bump onto an old tool was take a BD ice clipper (the plastic carabiner) and cut it up to the proper shape and use athletic tape to attach it. I have had a pair of tools with that on it for years now.

Will not really fit on any other tool, than Black Diamond!
Besides it it a great thing to upgrade an old Viper or Cobra.

Did you try and fit the strike to another tool? I was considering adding the strike to a non-BD tool and I'd be curious to know what your experience was. Thanks
It should go on pre 2007 Viper tools. BD has a weird way of labeling products. If you want parts for pre 2007 tools you want the Viper Fang, Strike or android leash. If you want parts for the 2007 tools you want the Cobra/Viper fang, strike, android leash.
