These are indispensible for your Vipers. I actually climb leashless with these more often nowadays. I recommend putting a little grip tape on the shaft and also get the upper pommel thing that Black Diamond makes and you've a great do-it-all tool.

Will it work on old Rage tools? I mean maybe Rages need some little modification to attach these fangs. Is it possible?

Hmmmm, I dunno. I think the spikes at the bottom of the tools might be slightly different. Try emailing Black Diamond directly they would know!

Leashless climbing without new tools

These work surprisingly well for leashless climbing. My advice it to take some tape and beef up the inside so it’s the perfect thickness to cradle your hand in the gloves that you plan on using the most. It definitely makes these easier to hang onto. Put the new attachment (Strike) on the upper shaft and matching is easy as well. The only real drawback is that you get a lot of pick shift when matching on rock. These things do make it nearly impossible to plant the shaft of your tool in the snow.

Is there any way to put it on older model of Cobra? I have two Cobras - probably from 2004.

Yes you can but you have to have a dremel tool and patience. I was able to put these on both my tools (06-07 cobras before they revamped them) needless to say the second one worked better than the first because I took my time and knew where I could take more plastic out and where to leave it be.

No more smashing your fingers against the ice! great hand protection, while allowing you to turn almost any tool into a leashless.
