Despite its large dimensions and powder leanings, this quiver-of-one has all the power you need to charge down steep faces and lay trenches in the hardpack. This versatile ski has won awards from Skiing Magazine, Outside Magazine, and Powder Magazine. The secret to the Verdict's aggressive, race-inspired feel is the CNC-machined solid wood core. The core profile transfers torsional power to the tips and tails to give you vice like edge hold and more power, while retaining a smooth longitudinal flex. Despite the burly construction and fat profile, the Verdict retains a light weight for long tours over variable terrain or making jump turns down a tight chute.

I have taken the Verdict (with Marker Dukes) in the backcountry, in deep pow and on groomed, and it performed beautifully in all conditions. Fairly decent carving ability, floats nicely in powder, overall great ski. I may not ever use my shaped skis again.

I took my 190's through the mogul course in spring conditions and they performed flawlessly. Having said that, I am no slouch in the bumps and I can pilot most any ski well in spring corn. These skis seem to be unaffected by adverse condions, although I have yet to try them on eastern boilerplate.

And that's saying something. I paired these up with the Voile Switchback binding. Suffice it to say you can let 'em run. A choice powder ski. Reasonably light for touring. Also concur that they're well put together. I've ripped over some rocks with minimal damage (was expecting some deep gouges). Great ski for telemark or Alpine touring.

I've heard that the 2008 Verdict performs a bit better than the 2007 as an all mountain ski. Has anyone skied both models and do you have a perspective on this?

I have skied both models. I spend most of my time touring and hiking in the backcountry. They changed the ski quite a bit- now it has a wood core, a tiny bit fatter, and stiffer. I ski aggressively and find that the 2008 responds better and handles all conditions with ease. I am a big fan of the wood core.

Love this ski-especially in the deep pow. It just busts through everything. I have only skied it at the resort but I think it's light enough to be a decent ski in the backcountry as well.

They should of named this ski the super beast. Took me a day and a half to find the sweetspot. Skied everything from concrete with sugar on top to knee deep coastal powder.Was a little concerned about the made in china thing. After sking over a boulder the size of a VW with nothing but light scratches on the bottom they past the test. If you got the balls to hang on to these they will blast through anything. Will do short and long turns. ROCK STABLE PLATFORM
