The only thing better would be having four legs.
Your truck and your dog both have four-wheel drive, so you might as well join in on the fun, you wobbly, two-legged excuse for an evolutionary success. The Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles will help you stay upright on the trail, the ski slope, or the skin track, as they come with interchangeable carbide and rubber tech tips, low-profile trekking baskets, and wide powder baskets. The Double Flicklock extension system is simple, reliable, and has a new low-profile design to improve swing weight, while the padded strap, dual-density grip, and foam grip extension allow you to hold on all day without developing carpal tunnel or having to smash your piggy bank to afford new poles.

- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
I gave this to my father as a gift, but this is a review from my mother about the product:
This is the second pair of Black Diamond trekking poles I've purchased. They're replacing the cheap, flimsy ones my husband tried to use. The locking mechanism for telescoping the poles is far superior to the "twist and pull" method on his cheaper ones. The hand grips are really comfortable as are the wrist bands. I've used my original pair for about 8 years and they've carried me over lots of steep, rocky paths. With arthritic feet, knees, and hips, I can continue to hike (mostly pain free!) using these poles.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've used these poles for a year hiking the Finger Lakes Trail and the North Country Trail and they have broken twice. Aluminum just won't hold if you trip and put weight on it. On the flip side I've had BD fixed length carbon ski poles for 3 years that i love and are still going strong.
