Whether you’re dirtbagging out of your van or headed out on a quick weekend camping mission, the Black Diamond Titan Lantern will be a welcome addition to you basecamp gear quiver. Thanks to its dual reflector system, this collapsible light source has enough power to illuminate your camp kitchen, an epic gear-racking session, or cocktails and cards around the picnic table. A dimming switch provides adjustment when you want more or less light, and the attached top loop lets you hang it just about anywhere.

Worth the Weight

Was a little skeptical at first, didn't seem durable. Has been beat around and last fine, gained my total confidence. Much nicer than just a couple headlights shooting all around the tent. Light and easy on batteries.

I'd buy it again

Packed this on my motorcycle for a three state camping trip. I didn't use it much but when I did, it was definitely enough light for the entire interior of my tent. Four days of camping and a single set of batteries were enough.

Anyone know how this compares with a regular fuel-powered lanterns.

Anyone know how this compares with a regular fuel-powered lanterns. I have the Apollo, and while it's great, it doesn't come close.

A Coleman 2 mantle gas powered lantern is somewhere around 800 lumens, while a 2 mantle propane lantern might get you something in the range of 1000 lumens. Compared to the ouput of this lamp (250 lumens), your two mantle fuel powered lanterns are in the range of 4 times as bright. One mantle lanterns usually just top this guy by a few hundred lumens.

The Titan is, however, about 5 times brighter than the Apollo.

Excellent Product

Great for camping, good on battery consumption, nice little options, very useful for direct light and spread beam. The only drawback of this product is that it takes 4 D cell size batteries which makes the lantern a bit heavy. I strongly recommend to use rechargeable batteries as they are kind to your wallet and way lighter than the disposable ones.

This thing is burley

This is awesome for car camping, but I wouldn't take this backpacking. It is has a similar design to the BD Apollo lantern which is super lightweight. This uses 4 D batteries so it's pretty heavy.
