Not Bad Poles for the Money

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Don't get me wrong, these trekking poles aren't bad by any means, they just don't have me starstruck enough to get them 5 stars. They are light enough that I never had any arm fatigue on a 24 mile trip and the grips are plenty comfortable. The included carbide tips seem to keep their grip will enough, but will slip if they are really wrenched on. My biggest complained is the vibration that happens when they strike the ground. It's not enough to jar your arm at all, but it can get a little annoying on smooth trails where you can really notice it. Once again, these are good trekking poles for the money, if your looking for a pair for under $100 i would definitely recommend these. However, if the vibration is a deal breaker, you might want to at least test these first or look else where.

Decent Poles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got these poles off steepandcheap for cheap. I have liked them, but recently they started to bend at the lock. They have 500+ hard miles on them (NM,AZ,NV,CA,UT,CO), so I guess they are pretty tough. I like that they only 2 sections sense I usually keep them in my hands and not in my bad. I think they may be bending quicker though due to the longer sections.
