Put your paws together for the Black diamond Sprinter Headlamp.

Are you tired of stomping on cats every time you go for an evening run? They're tired of it, too. The Black Diamond Sprinter Headlamp will end your misery by lighting the path ahead with 75 lumens of kitty-spotting glow. The Sprinter makes you more visible, too, with a red rear strobe that lets drivers know that you are there and you find self-preservation to be a priority. Black Diamond also gave the Sprinter excellent fore and aft balance and a low profile that minimizes bouncing while you dodge cars and cats.

Does its job and does it comfortably

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've never noticed the rear headlamp (which is a good thing), and the light is plenty bright for night time running. Also, I've had no issue with battery life; just plug it into the charger (which is no hassle) when you get home and you're golden.

Great upgrade for my dark trail runs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been really happy with this lamp on my first 3 runs with it. The balance of weight between the front and back is much better than what I was using before. I was worried about the diffuser lens as I like a spot (not flood) when I run trails in the dark. But this lamp throws out ample light. The only problem is my wife wants to use it all of the time, so I'll likely have to get another!

Head/headlight mismatch

Not so much of a review of the light I guess, which seemed just fine, but the rear battery pack/LED is just an uncomfortable piece of plastic pressing into the back of my head. Ended up exchanging for the Revolt, which although heavier and a little bit bouncier on the run, is more comfortable for my apparently odd shaped melon...

best headlamp ever!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

used this while running ragnar and it was the best headlamp out there! everyone wanted to use these lamps. charge last forever, we did not even have to recharge the battery during the whole night!

It says this has a red light strobe, but does it also have a red light normal setting for night vision?

It has a red LED strobe on the back. You can turn the red LED off, if you desire. There is not a red LED on the front. I have one of these head lamps and really like it. When running at night on streets, it nice to know that people can see you from behind.

good lamp

This lamp is super comfortable, great light, and a good weight for it's size. Like the rechargeable aspect so far.

This product doesn't list any estimated battery use time (i.e. 30hrs at full brightness). I really like the specs on this lamp, but that info is pretty vital. BD doesn't have it on their specs either. Any way to determine this?

Hey cef4146623,

I did some digging and I found that there isn't an overall estimated battery time due to the dimming function on the Black Diamond Sprinter Headlamp. They do list what the battery life for the maximum and minimum light settings and they are 6 hours and 42 hours respectively.
